Hydra Rocket Sounds

I want the rocket sounds to actually sound realistic. Not the "psssh" sound, its gotta have that woosh sound. It kind of has a big echo to it.

This video pretty much explains it

and this one

also, I like what you've done with the sound of the weapons and how they can be heard throughout the map. I think it would be cool to do the same for the hydras. When a cobra is blasting a bunker full of INGs, the whole battlefield needs to know it. :D

That would be very cool, sounds awsome in the first video.

i just got the hugest boner from watching these.

in my opinion pretty much all the sounds (minus the US i think all the revamped sounds to US sound great) need to be fixed

Agreed. The sounds for weapons aren't realistic sounding or loud enough

I think the RPK sounds alright and the chinese machine gun adds a nice contrast to the background noise of machine gun fire.

Agreed that the hydras, and pretty much every noise in the game, needs to be redone.

Should the hydras also have a higher splash dammage? In BF2, it hardly has any at all.

The dumbfires do have a much greater radius damage effect than they did in V-BF2. If you land one within a few meters of a foot soldier you're rewarded with some ragdoll physics as he goes flying. On the attack helicopter rockets...It would be nice to be able to hold down the trigger and release a pod of rockets in a stream. If I'm not mistaken, real Cobra pilots/co-pilots don't -have- to pull the trigger constantly when they want to release a volley of suppressive rockets. I wouldn't take away the precision of choosing a rocket at a time but it would be great to release them all over a few seconds time with one squeeze.

Speaking of damage...how likely is it that we'll see somewhat realistic gore? One of the nice things about Counter-Strike (I know, different game) is the excellent blood spray and trailing on surfaces behind a target. It gives you a nice sense of reality and makes you feel like the weapon has weight and that the rounds penetrate. I'm sure a lot of CS'ers-playing-BF2 are gravitating towards your mod already and can attest to this feature's contribution to the atmosphere of CS.

that line just made me laugh out loud!

i agree with a bit more blood then just a puff of blood, but if i remember correctly they were having trouble the blood effects, but that was forever ago.

and it would be nice if all guns were a bit louder, maybe with some more bass, and just plain more realistic.

when someone surprises me whilst unloading their weapon, id like to be a little scarred by the sound =)

I think just about everyone would agree that the more realistic the sounds the better. I can't imagine someone posting and arguing for weaker audio
