Dear mappers: please fix the Arabic words

Dear PR community - great work on the mod.

There's a small thing I'd like to suggest though for the future development of the mod's realism:

Use of genuine Arabic on signs, billboards etc in the Middle Eastern maps.

Some of the Arabic text is correct, but the individual letters are not joined as they should be. Other signs are just complete nonsense, as far as I can tell.

I'm not arabic myself, but I have lived for some time in the region, and learned a bit of this fascinating language. So for me at least, the nonsense signposts stick out like an eyesore.

Actually I signed up to these boards just to suggest this :)

Cheers,

M

There mostly done by EA, it would require the PR team reskinning the billboards.

Hey Menigmand, welcome to the forums.

Maybe you can help out here:

Mention the signs etc.. that you're thinking of, possibly with screenshots and a representation of what you think it should look like. Then, maybe learn to texture as Soucy has pointed out, that is what will need doing. It shouldn't take too much work.

When I was doin some signs for the Community matches, I had problems finding a text that accepted all of the non-Anglican letters, it tended to only be the standard windows fonts.

I'm going to start on some texturing soon so I may be able to make things such as signs and field dressings non-gibberish.

Thanks for the welcome.

I'm sorry, but I don't have time to help building the mod, only able to find an hour or two in the weekends to even play it.

Just wanted to throw my two cents in there anyway. I know it's not a deal-breaker for the gameplay, and probably very far down on the list of things to work on :)
