[help] Problem with Editor setup

I have a problem with the layers tutorial:
Layers For Maps (16, 32 And 64 Size Maps Etc) - Official BF Editor Forums
When the layer is created, the options for it are missing. (game mode etc)
In the topic there is a solution for it:
bf2
xpack
pr_edit
When I did setup th ediotr for PR I named it PR_edit_v08, to have a separate copy without touching the the older pr_edit from 07. Is it a problem if there is no pr_edit_v08 folder in the editor folder? I am scared to rename the editor folders because I dont want to screw it up. Can I add a pr_edit_v08 folder to the above by copying the pr_edit?
Also, is the 04 readme still up to date?
This part I wonder what it is for:

Now this is where it gets a bit confusing. In my bf2editor folder I have 3 folders:If that happens you should perhaps copy a 'LayerInit.con' from /bf2editor/mods/bf2 to /bf2editor/mods/<your mod> folder.

Does this mean that testing the map on my pc without the code will not work?where "aa" is a unique code assigned to your map BY THE PROJECT REALITY TEAM. We'll assign codes when you are in the *final* stages and have a playable map, so don't start asking for codes for your next 12 map projects.
