Hereby i would like to discuss the H&K GMG 40mm automatic granade launcher.



This vehicle mounted weapon is used as a alternative to the .50 cal on our MB209/IFAV light jeeps in use by the Dutch Special Forces.

Its American counterpart is the Mk19.

iirc there have been plenty of debates on the GL launchers, so the only discussion here should be regarding modelling etc of the Dutch version

not directly quoting, but I believe that the result of the discussion was that it would be akin to a APC HEAT round, and a community member made a LOVELY model of the mk-19

imo you guys have plenty to do without making a weapon like this, so if you can get a hold of that mk-19 model, use it as a placeholder and get other stuff done

Its the correct transalation but in the wrong Englisyh order, The order is correct in the Dutch way.

But yea, just skip this until the later stages when as you may need extra things to counter the 14.5 mm vodnik etc...

We dont know IF we are going to put it in, thats why i started the discussion, first we will complete our first build as soon as we are beta we will include more stuff.

the 40mm would basicly act like a normal APC-round with a larger splash damage & less accuraccy.

The 40mm round is exactly the same round like a 40mm m203 round, only fired at a higher velocity not requiring a arch trajectory.

Its belt fed with 25 rounds on one belt so if you would give the jeep 3 belts, inlcuding 1 allready loaded ( 1+2 ) for balancing, so you have 75 rounds.

Yeah, i think it can be modified, i need to discuss this weapon with AfterDune and Martin, if theye agree, we will see from there.

But yeah... if adding such weapon to PR then the other community mods will demand Automatic grenade launchers as well. I'd say that if added it should be in very limited numbers because the damage it could cause is... well... a lot

My idea was just to have only one mounted on a jeep and have the rest use .50 cal.

It has a low priority atm since the weapon platform must be created first. ( MB209/FAV )
