Hi. I have some suggestions for the ACCP Eryx. I shot it in the french military, so I know it very well.
-First of all, the reticle is wrong. I don't have a picture of it, but its quite simple, so I can try to draw one with MS Paint. I dont know, how much it is in the game, but IRL it has 3x zoom.
-Second: When I tried to shoot it from the prone position ingame, I blew myself up. But actually the Eryx is preferably fired from the ground, with its light portable tripod. Only for close distances from 100 to maximum 300 m it makes sense to shoot it unsupported from the sholder.
-Third: The missile arms itself between 40 to 50 m, within this distance it won't detonate. So you can only destroy targets on from ~50 m. And at 600 - 620 m the cable ends, so maximum distance would be 600 m.
-fourth: When you shoot the Eryx, the cable starts to pull a little bit, so it would pull the reticle down, if you wouldn't hold it up. And the further the missile goes, the stronger the cable pull will be.
BTW You did a great job on making this mod. Its really fun to play. Much better than BF2! Thank you.

iirc this is because there is backblast right?- the deviation in this position for the HAT weapons is incredible because your feet are burning
I don't think you can set a tripod up ingame, otherwise laser designators would be set up like that also?

Thanks for the info Baal. The Eryx right now is just a placeholder for the MEC and the PLA (we plan on giving both factions their own Heavy Anti-Tank weapons in future releases).
If you notice, the Canadian Forces are planned for the future. Since they're the only faction that would realistically use the Eryx, I'll definitely be referring to this post when coding it for them

Yes you are right. But the missile in the Eryx is ejected by a small ejection charge and will ignite its main nozzle engines, when it is a couple meters away from the shooter, so it produces only a small backblast and can be fired from smaller rooms, unlike older recoilless weapons, that can not be fired from small rooms. But of course, you still are in serious trouble, if you are directly behind an Eryx, when it is fired, which is, why you must position your legs a little bit to the side, when you want to shoot the Eryx from the prone position.

Great, and reliable information you gave us there Baal I have also fired the Eryx, and I`ve got the same experince. Maybe devs should focus about these things a bit more, thats some constructive criticism devs

I have modded the Eryx to how I think it should operate. Basically, it is slower, more manoeverable and has a more visible flame out the back. Here is a video to demonstrate.
It moves at an accurate speed now, taking approx. 4-5 seconds to reach its max range of 600m. It is easier to follow moving targets now, but the missile is easier to see and defeat with smoke than the present lasergun edition. Overall the missile is still pretty lethal, but there is some scope for escaping it now, if you can see the launch. Opinions?
I am also working on an improved predator, that will be quite different to the Eryx!

Hey the videos look great. And the missile with its two nozzles looks really realistic now. When now the start sequence would be changed, this would probably be the closest to a real Eryx.
When you make a long distant shot, first you have to aim with the triangle and when the shot is fired you have to lower the cross steady and carefully down, to where you want the impact. You can't move the reticle too fast, because if you move it too fast, the camera will loose contact with the missile and the safety will then engage and the missile will just fall to the ground.
Also, when you push the fire button, you first hear a click and then there is a ~1 second delay before the missile is fired. And when it is fired, you see nothing for about 0,5 seconds, because the missile is in your way. Then, when the nozzle engines start, you will see a bright light. But you must concentrate on your reticle and the target, and not on the missile, because otherwise you won't hit anything.
