terrain lightmap are independent of the object lightmaps... everything will generate terrain lightmaps (lms)

the actual shadows on the objects themselves are what is dependent on the lightmap samples..

vegitation doesnt have lightmap samples so not to worry... :)

overgrowth ie, vegetation has no lightmaps, they use a system called the overgrowth shadow map to control there lighting which most maps do not need/use. They can shadows onto the terrain yes but they do not need lightmap samples to do this.

Personally I would not use the Xpack stuff.
