What is your favorite weapon on the CAS planes (in general) and why?

A. Main gun/Unguided rockets
B. Laser guided ordinance

I personally the A-10's (that's all I ever fly, don't fly MEC) gun. Got 8 kills (gun only) before being kicked for baserape which I never did. That thing is a beast - tanks, APCs, choppers - it owns them all.

The one that drops on the green square that I put over enemies and kills them dead.

Laser guided ordances. Though out of the 3 times I've utilized CAS assets, there were 2 times when instead of a laser guided bomb obliterating my target it was a NGA (Noob Guided Aircraft) that slammed into the target. Well, at least it killed them.

Moral of the "story". Don't Vbf2 dive-bomb targets :\

I voted for the main gun. I once called down an airstrike on Kashan on a fortification. The maingun took apart the hostiles who fancied themselfs protected behind cover and the fortification.

I, too, find that unguided munitions can be just as effective as guided ones if the pilot strafes what you want him to strafe. So, as I said before, anything that kills the target is good. Of course, guided munitions are more precise, but the A-10 gun looks impressive as well.

i love laser guided ordinance, you hear the words "i got a lock" you get a warm fuzzzy feeling when the guys on your team thank you for destroying a couple of tanks...

Going uber with a combo of cannons and unguided rockets makes you feel like a PWNZER-Faust.
Theres something about strafing and being strafed i just find auxilerating.

Although I do value guided audinence more so, as it is more cost effective (ingame that is).

I like the E button.

LG munitions are more reliable, but its just so rewarding to kill a tank with the cannon.

Cant you give targets to the automatic cannon of the chopper aswell?

Like, squadleader on the ground reports a "contact" at a marker, to the pilot in his own squad, and the helicopter is 800 m up, he cant se ****. So the squadleader guides the fire, until the target is destroyed. peace of cake!
