So i've slowly but surely been trying to get my friend to start playing PR. He's hooked on Fallout 3 right now and i feel that i'm about 80% of the way to having him convinced to come over to PR.

My question to you is this: how could i do that?

I'm thinking if i just show him a few of the best youtube videos of PR teamwork and cooperation he'll go for it. He's always HATED playing shooters online because of the smacktarded 13 year old kids ruining all the games. I got him to play call of duty 1 years and years ago with my tactical realism squad and he really liked it, though he became "pwnt" nearly non-stop. I think he's going to love PR, though.

so..recommend some good videos please!

(i've already been through the videos thread and watched most all of them. I wantto know what the community is most representative.)

Also showing him the promo vids wouldn't go a miss too but they dont show gameplay in the same way as you may be looking for.

What you guys need is to make a single videos that shows off all the awesome of PR with matching music in the background. I tried to promote PR on other forums via vids but I had to post too many videos to show off the cool stuff in PR

Yea but most of the time they only show off the additions in that version rather than the whole game.


And ROFL. I was just watching fuzzhead and dbzao's sniping videos, and even they were like "wtf how did I miss that guy, bullshit" and this was in 0.75 LMAO

I think you should not over-hype it. Show him the videos the others recommended but also say that the teamwork he sees is not always like that(i dunno lets say you have teamwork 7/10 times). Because if you over-hype it, and your friend comes with high expectations and happens to catch a really sh*tty round, he wont play anymore.

Conveys the feel of a realistic[sniper team] game better than many of the videos out there. Be sure to turn Subs on unless you speak Unamerican

Sure it's not all the features of PR but it REALLY shows the pace change and room for realistic roles.

Explain to him that each class is as awesome as that video or better. Explain the new medic concept, the resuscitate procedure, etc.

Explain the Autorifleman kits and such. The designated marksman, all of that. Let him know how "deep" PR is, how its not just grab a gun and go out killing.

Specops still have a role in PR. And that trailer is far better than 0.6, 0.7, and 0.8 trailers combined.

Lol, the vid mostly shows specops acting "1337", etc. The lighting is terrible and many things "lag" in the video (it's not the video itself, but the computer that recorded it couldn't handle it so it seems). The one and only thing that made that video so popular was its soundtrack, which isn't bad at all. The video itself is really not worth all the praise. Perhaps the audio is, but the video really is not.
And saying it's better than those other three trailers combined is really, really [censored] (imo).

But hey, this thread is about a guy who wants to draw a mate into PR, so let's not discuss the trailers here an further .

It shows specops for about 20 seconds. The lighting looks cool imo and i cant say that it lags in any way what so ever... Its not just about the music its how the music is used in the vid. Not sure how to explain but the video "fits" the music.

Btw, how is blowing up an AAA (ie doing something useful) "acting l33t"....?
