I was flying a helicopter today and had accidentally put it into a maneuver I couldn't pull out of so I bail out. When I land I look around only to see my helicopter safely land. I jump back in it and fly back to the carrier and the thing didn't even need repairs.

It's slightly more complicated, but essentially the same as bailing from the jet when you overshoot the runway, but makes for a nice story

Heh, I remember going out of bounds on Kashan on trying to land quickly since I'm bleeding out.I come in with my A-10 at a speed of 700, and I'm still 100 meters above the runway before I die.

I respawn, expecting the worst, but I grab an engineer and I find the thing in perfect condition at thetouchdown end of the runway

physics change when you are not in the jet, i think. I never fly but its that way in vF2 i think. You hop out and it gains a much better ability to stay up in the air and then glide safely down

really funny stories though
