How about a 2 poles which you can deploy near a FB/Bunker, that you can stick into the ground up to 50m apart which detect enemy movement when a hostile passes through it? And when the hostile does pass through it a small alarm bell at the FB/Bunker goes off for 20 seconds or so?
This could come in handy if you have your FB/Bunker in a good position where the enemy can only come at you from on direction. It could be a pre-warning system to get into defensive positions?
Thoughts?

Unless they're invisible to the enemy, I'd think that the razor wire is more useful since it actually stops them getting closer.
It might be useful occasionally, but in the bustle of battle, I think it's of little use.

well they could be camouflaged to look like a bush or something maybe? Or maybe a small tree? lol. They should have some notable characteristic though so that enemies could disable/destroy them before moving on?

Or if we get real flares, put them up, ka blamy, we have a flare in the air(rhymes) signyfying:
A) Enemy
B) your nubby squad member who can't obey orders

its called triangulation, was thinking about that since we have a lack of UAVs now, maybe spec ops could deploy 3 radios and monitor everything that goes on inside like the electronic warfare blokes?

Well my thought is it should be defended in the first place. The idea of sensors sounds a little sci-fi. If anything trip flares should be used instead...which are in game.

We already have tripflares, which are pretty useless since 99% of the time they are tripped by teammates. Now imagine your hi-tech infrared zomglazor sensor being tripped by teammates every 3 seconds as they spawn on the FB and move out.

Defend it, and use the sandbags. No one uses them for cover, 'cause no one ever stays on defence.

Ditto. Assets, once deployed, should be defended with bodies. If a motion sensor went off and no one was in the vicinity to defend then it would merely be a tip that your asset was going to be destroyed in the next few seconds.

I still think it could be good! There could be another alarm that goes off in the Commander Trailer as well to let him know which alarm went off and then he could tell the squad leaders who are near but cant hear the alarm!
Heck it could actually be a silent alarm that is only heard by the commander!

^ this is why is would be a great idea, the commander giving info rather than receiving and relaying.
1+ from me, but it has to be well done ofc, I for one do NOT WANT vBF2 UAV back in some form.
if the detector had a wide range, but the warning icon only came up on the detector's position and nowhere else, so you know the enemy are 'there' but not where, that would be cool

What about maybe 4 you could set up around the FB/Bunker and they all have maybe 10/15m range? If enemies walk within that region then a light comes on in the Command Trailer and tells the commander which of the Motion Sensors is detecting something.

would be good if it detected both friendlies and enemies as well, for realism. The detector can't discern between them
though really, as others have said, it would be better if it was a spec ops deployed item not limited to a FB radius (assuming ofc that its realistic enough, i'm pretty sure things like this exist...but I'm not sure how widespread they are)
because if they get that close to an FB without being detected its probably about to be knifed anyway
EDIT- it appears I was recalling the FCS prob network deployment plans...which are apparently not in average use, if at all atm.
Its a bit of a move advanced motion sensor i was thinking of but its cool!
I think it would be a little too much though for us n PR!
What do you guys think of it?
Id love something though that when it detected enemy movment, will spurt out lots of smoke in all directions and shoot a flare up into the air! Now THAT would be cool to see! lol
