2000 pound bombs and various other aircraft weaponry

So after playing with PR's jets for a while now, I've begun noticing, why aren't these planes carrying Large bombs such as 2000 pound bombs? In Vietnam little prop planes flew into battle with them, so why not our modern day jets? The jets like the A10 especially, certainly carry enough room for one of those.
Concerning Hydras... Why are they **** against tanks? Its like ur slinging cotton balls at the armor. A hydra is a 70 mm rocket, that should do plenty against a tank.

Because you can call in Jdam strikes as a commander asset like artillery in BF2. Hydras do kill tanks get like maybe 10 on target and it will die.

^or more... Fooling around on Quinling, My tank took at least half the missles that the Chinese Attack Chopper could hold, and received very little damage.

Then replace the Jdam with something bigger. Lol. Or get rid of them. And yeah, you are definitely wrong about the hydras, unfortunately.

Replace JDAM with MOAB for area attacks, and the MEC and Chinese could have FOAB (Russian version of MOAB)

Agree'd.
MOAB/FOAB with a larger blast radius than the current command JDAM (and, preferably, the proper ring of explosion effect for the MOAB and the flaming tower looking explosion of the FOAB), and perhaps JDAM as a bomb, perhaps made to be effective as an infantry destroyer (with no mushroom cloud

)

But everyone knows that FOAB WTPBBQPWNS the MOAB

Okay, so that everyone is perfectly equalled, give the OPFOR a 15 minute extra wait time.

I vote no.
Planes are already a source of much idiocy AND powerful enough without handing out more bombs just to make them more l33t. And the jdam does exactly what pr needs it to do and is just right for the number of players actually playing on a map.

im pretty sure hydra rockets were never really intended to be used against tanks in real life, at least not modern tanks. i think they were designed to take out lighter armored vehicles/structures like trucks, jeeps, buildings, apcs, infantry groups, and MAYBE older crappier tanks like t55s. i think thats why alot of choppers are equipped with rockets and hellfires, rockets for lighter armored vehicles, hellfires for tanks.
i could be wrong about this, but id appreciate if someone could back me up my claim lol

Hydras, S5, S8, Hellfires, Atakas, Ingwe, TOWs, et al, have lots of different variants designed for different targets. There are Hydras that are designed for soft targets, designed for light armored targets, some that use phosphorus, some that illuminate, some that air burst (which can be done in BF2), some that blow up on impact. See the important thing to determine is what type of Hydra are we firing? What is it's intended purpose?
Sort of like the Mi-28 and the BTR-90. You know they both use the same gun in real life? It's the 2A42. It can fire anything from APDS, APT, HEI, to HET rounds. Each round does it's own thing. When you model this gun in game you have to determine which round its going to be using.

You don't waste a 2000 lbs bomb on a tank, you drop the smallest capable of doing the job and put many on. It's a trade off, the heavier the bomb, the fewer you can carry, and in PR, it's quantity over quality as you don't attack hardened targets and there's no real buildings to destroy.

I did not say we'd be dropping a 2000 lb bomb on a tank. For tanks go ahead and use the laser guided missles, but use the 2000 lb on buildings, (like the village areas in Kashan or Quinling) and areas of strategic importance.
Maybe what I want is off map support to be taken out. I like the idea of the players controlling what happens, and not some random explosives that fall out of the sky.
I'm more concerned about the Hydras though, just played Kashan, and was flying low when i Stumble on a tank at a relatively close range, and shot him will about 20 hydras all in the back/side area with perfect accuracy. WHILE my gunner was pouring rounds into it. It didn't die.

Dumb idea.
If you loaded up the planes with 2000 pound bombs, than there would be no need for anyone else.
The moab is rarely used (if ever?)
Lets just get a nuke instead, it would just blow up the whole map and games would go a lot quicker.
