So the U.S. Army in PR instead of having a true iron sight rifle, has a Aim point for the engineer, medic, riflemen etc so I was curious, does china have an equivalent to this? and since the mec is ficional but uses mainly german weaponry, is there a aimpoint that the germans use that the mec could use in game? im all about keeping things realistic, so if the mec/pla really only use ironsights or a scope then things should stay the way they are. but maybe if theres equivalents maybe we should put them into pr?

The G3 could, conceveably, be fitted with any sighting system that can be mounted on a 20mm picatinny rail as picatinny claw mounts (similar to the one we see on the scoped G3 in PR) are available. Link.

I've heard rumours that the Chinese have a 2.5x magnifying RDS for the QBZ-95/97 series Link. However, they've all indicated that they're either for the PAP or export (I've also heard that theres a picatinny type mountbase available, though the closest I've seen to any evidence is from the Chinese airsoft gun manufacter Real Sword who make replicas of the QBZ-97). Also, our man in China, PRCHeavyZ states that he's seen no Aimpoint type sights in service with the PLA. Also, annoyingly I cant get onto the Norinco website to check this, as flash doesn't agree with me that it should work on my PC.

Anyway, the Aimpoint on the M4 in PR is actually a balance decision to compensate for the fact that because the US Army has carbines rather than rifles they deal less damage and are not as accurate, so they have the better sights to compensate.

I wouldn't implement aim point for PLA, even for special forces it'd be a stretch. Though light up Thermo or Night/Day scopes could do... But only, again, for special forces.

You have to keep in mind that the PLA has been playing catch up and only in recent history has been (is) making a concerted effort to modernize their military.

Indeed good sir! I have seen the G3 with a M68 Aimpoint, but I like the G3 sights and the G3 is a 7.62 rifle.

I was under the impression that at the moment the PLA we have in game was representative of better kitted elements of the PLA, although what PRC says about them being a an SF thing makes them a bit ify to give to line troops.

To be honest the QBZ is fairly nifty in CQB, so can live without it, the G3 could do with it though cos those irons really don't work up close in the slightest if you ask me.

I was always under the impression that the US Army got the Aimpoint because they were using Carbines when every other faction is using full rifles.

I've love a sight on the chinese AR-rifleman, for some reason the irons don't work for me

I don't know much of the PLA, but in the British Armed Forces, I'm pretty sure(I'm not in the army, I have some friends and I plan to join) Royal Marines, Special Forces and the Parachute Regiment get most of the new kit first. (Anyone actually in the British Army or Armed Forces, is this true?) If so, then more likely that you are right, they are elements that get the new kit first. (Sorry If I sound like a retard on my post, but I'm only guessing on this as this would kind of be common sense)

from what i understand and have been told by serving British soldiers its about whos on ops and needs it most:

When new general issue kit is rolled out, it's given to those on Ops first, then the kit is backloaded to units due to deploy next, then through order of priority.

but as bob said i would imagine US army getting red dots its to highlight and promote there CQB ability.
