Preloaded Mortar/Artillery

I was thinking about how it might be useful in Insurgency maps to have a Mortar/Artillery strike available right at the start of the map, as a way to "soften the area" before the actual attack starts.
For example: it's pretty common for the insurgents in Korengal to rush to the US camp and pump the area full with IEDs. And a preloaded Arty could help to prevent the loss of the first 2 trucks.

I'd say there has to be somekind of delay, but the 1/2 hour delay is kinda harsh especially as (afaik) they only start loading when the commander signs up.
the delay is necessary to prevent rape of the insurgent main imo, destroying a bombcar there could take alot of stuff out

On big maps it may not be much of a problem, but yea, the idea is to avoid griefing at round start or something like that, altough it's a valid strategy in real life.

I actualy think, 1/2 hour is way to much for a Light mortar barrage.
Would be nice to have different times:
- JDAM: 30 minutes
- Artillery: 20 minutes
- Mortars: 15 minutes
Or something that way.

erm...doesn't the US side have enough advantages already? better weapons, humvees etc
God forbid soldiers going on foot and flanking the insurgents, killing them and clearing the path...
besides if you use the side enterance of the base and go to the road up north theres almost no resistance or IED's...nobody forces you to take the main road which is the fastest....and the deadliest

I support shorter loading times on Area Attacks.
- JDAM: 60 minutes
- Artillery: 30 minutes
- Mortars: 15 minutes

Then the same should be available to the insurgents in terms of mortars to bombard the US base.
But then again, there's no commander ever on any side so who cares?

Commanders do happen
I like the asymmetry of the different times alot, thats the kind of thing PR needs more of.
