PR is actively trying not to use normal BF2 maps.

The overall idea of PR is to slowly remove all BF2 related content and replace it with PR stuff. While you may thing wake island it doesn't.

Wake for PR would be cool. But not the original one. A much larger one would be needed. With more space for troop movement and not just a U shaped death trap.

Currently working on Wake Island for PR. But it will be totally converted and changed.
-Map size scaled up
-Rebuilding Wake island to actual Google Maps maps.

-US starts on a carrier and so does PLA.

-Storyline;

The US needs a operational airbase near China so they were thinking about taking Wake Island again which has been abandoned since WW2. Chinese intel tells them they are taking Wake Island and the PLA reacts quickly and starts an operation to land on Wake Island and fortify it before the US gets there. Unfortunatly the PLA arrived to late and stranded on the island at the same time as the US. Result, an epic battle for Wake Island!

Purple circles are capture points.

The purpose of this that it will devide the armies in two parties to continue and conquer.
You get heavy fighting all over the map! If the army doesn't split up they loose 1 side and so the whole map. Tactics will play a vital role in a map like this and it will be perfectly suited for PR-clanwars.

The US will have to capture the two beaches first and the PLA the main airbase.

Available assets (per side)
-1 APC
-6 Boats
-2 Choppers

Please comment!

Why does the PLA have Hueys? :p ^^

Seems quite cool. I just hope the shape of the island doesnt hurt the gameplay too much (by limiting the area useable for flanking etc)

Edited
And you can flank via the water :)
I'm trying (if possible) to add boats to certain points when you capture them that a boat spawns there, or adding some civilian boats to be used! PS; I'm not a really pro mapper :P I can do most things but I need help with game settings for PR etc etc so if any pro mapper is willing to help me! Please!

I wouldn't have the PLA stating on a carrier until a PLA one is made. In fact I would worry about a carrier at all ;-) But the Idea of a Wake Island remake (that works for PR) is a great idea.

True, US carrier for PLA is wierd. It's just alpha alpha alpha alpha you know :P I'm also thinking of adding a small island near Wake Island with boats and APC and a huey to use that as extraction point for the PLA

Personally a more accurate portray of wake island the better. Random islands always look bad.

Summary of Wake:
The US annexed Wake Island in 1899 for a cable station. An important air and naval base was constructed in 1940-41. In December 1941 the island was captured by the Japanese and held until the end of World War II. In subsequent years, Wake was developed as a stopover and refueling site for military and commercial aircraft transiting the Pacific. Since 1974, the island's airstrip has been used by the US military and some commercial cargo planes, as well as for emergency landings. There are over 700 landings a year on the island.
Not to mention a carrier vs. Carrier over an island battle would not happen nowadays, due to the carrier groups(not in bf2) (who have loads of tomahawks)

I say, make it the scenario that happened in WW2, "a small US outpost on an US controlled island being overwhelmed by a Japanese (Chinese) carrier group" -make US start on the island with plenty of defenses, and give the Chinese the carrier or a flag/paradrops on the island.

To end the huge deathtrap, maybe make the Chinese carrier come from the South or North.

US start on the island with little ticktets unless they hold the airfeild, (counter attack mode?) China gets the sub and some civi fishing trawlers from the xpack as a base.

"After China entered the war, it was no question to anyone that the world was looking at its Third World War. With U.S forces engaging the PLA in Korea, it was clear that an attack on China would be necessary to keep them from interfering in the Middle Eastern Theater. The airstrip on Wake Island has been expanded to a full capacity military supply base and is being used as a staging point for the invasion. Unfortunately, the Chinese have realized this and have dispatched forces to eliminate this crucial installation. The US forces must not allow China to take control of the island or the forces in Korea and China will be cut off from sorely needed supplies and reinforcements."

This is the perfect scenario for a Wake Island PR Edition, and sets the US up on the island having to defend against Chinese forces.

I agree, but if you look at google maps there is a real small island near, its like a sandbank but its too far away from it :o And if you place the US on the island you get a reverse barracuda. That's just two times the same, So I'm aiming for a counter assault on the island. I just don't know how yet.
