I Hate Birds

A personal hatred.
Birds every few metres or so that flyoff and alert the enemy. Its as if they are attracted to dangerous warzones. You would think that the large amounts of fire in the area would scare them off. Now Im not sure about lifescale habit of the common sparrow, around tanks and chinese soldiers are or their realistic reaction to mortar rounds are but personally I think there are too many of them around, littering the maps. I suggest a decent cull of them is in order?
Im not even sure if bullets zinging in their general direction scares them off. Bulletproof budgies FTW?

Some maps do go overboard with birds. Seven Gates comes to mind. There are some spots where you can stand and watch birds pop out of the ground every 3 seconds, seemingly forever.
Some birds are fine, but when the map feels like it's covered in a permanent layer of live birds, it gets ridiculous.

I like AND hate the birds
like the birds for atmospheric effect when you're sneaking through the woods
HATE them because the large number of boom booms going off should have scared them away in most situations.
If removing them gives an increase in performance, I'd definitely choose no birds over birds.

For those that dont get the joke because you didn't play Korengal in the early DEV builds I had added a system that when an explosion went off angry dogs would start to bark and move off into different directions. Unfortunately a script error went out and the dogs barked every time a gun shot happen or randomly moving down roads.
It cause a majority of the testers to stress out as the sounds would happen a few feet away and the testers would freak the fuck out. Many friendly fire accidents happen as testers were shooing in all different directions to hit the invisible dogs

Then DB sabotaged the sounds files and they are never heard in game but do still get triggered :-p

Unfortunately crazyasian11 loses bowel control when hearing dogs in the neighborhood barking. Its not cheap for therapy.
Its hard being a mapper and paying medical bills to him.

Don't even get me started on that kind of stuff!
Freakin birds chirping and flying all over the place... REPEATEDLY at that. Waterfalls that can be heard most anywhere on a map. How bout the sounds of dock workers and lifting cranes in the middle of a US invasion on Muttrah City. All those dock workers must be invisible or something, cause I never found one. There are just too many things like that to mention really.
The entire background sounds in general need to me gone. Hell you can't even hear someone sprinting hardly with all the CRAPPY "out of place" ambient background noises in game.

Well the water falls should be there, that would be the lamest thing ever if water falls didn't make any sound. But yeah the bug of hearing it all over the map is a bad thing. I personally don't think the ambient sounds on Korengal are out of place.

Really? It may need to be
changed and improved but background noise isn't going anywhere. In fact you may hear more and
correct ambient noise in the future.

some places in 7gates even you move a little to view the binoculars and it keeps flying away every 3 second as said above.

Gotta love the birds, every time i run trough the woods when the birds start to fly i know the enemy will come so i make preparations and they just "jump" in the trap
