I couldnt help notice that the chinook is coming for the brits.

It sure is going to look funny when only like 8 people can enter the chinhook :p .

I can live with that, especially with the 2 crates

Yeah, same. Also aren't they going to have something really unique for it? Like a Landrover drop off aswell?

Remember the limitations of the BF2 engine! Just asking why can't u have more then 8 people??? Is the engine that bad...

I remember one time on Irving where the Chinook got so loaded it flipped over in the river :)
8 people is good enough for me as well.

Yea, sure, let's make Chinook to take 22 people inside + 2 pilots.

Then there is an AA or a stupid pilot. You know the rest, and that's why 8 is perfectly ok.

RedAlertSF is right - With the number of people on the battlefield, 32 per team, having 24 of them getting killed at once is not good. So unless they made it so you could have more on each team and bigger squads there's no point. Plus it's hardcoded ^_^.

I can't wait to see the chinook in game, that is one awesome aircraft

Can you imagine in pr having 24 guys dropped off at the same place? 24 man rush on a bunker in Kashan would be awesome to try and defend against. But alas, foiled once again by the bf2 engine.

My only question is: Will the Mec have any kind of consolation prize for not being able to setup a forward firebase with one chopper drop? More transport choppers for them maybe, maybe?
Give them some sort of armoured, supply crate carrying vehicle?

Agree that 8 is fine for the chinook to carry tbh but i dont think that the opfor will need any kind of corresponding vehicle for a couple reasons:

1. The chinook will be so big that LZs on a lot of maps will be quite hard to come by seeing as it will have to be a particularly large flat area, its not like a huey where you can pretty much drop of crates and troops wherever.

2. It will be such a big target and will hopefully make such a racket that the enemy will be able to guage a fairly good idea of where it is setting troops down which is a disadvantage in using it that balances the fact you'll be able to have a FB up within about a minute; the enemy will know where you are

Heres something i was thinking about one night. Since the chinook has the ability to float, is there a way that you can add the same characteristic that the boat/APC have that allow them to float to the Chinook? That way we could actually land in water for whatever reason... we might need...to land...in water?

Could the devs describe or hint at how big the Chinook is going to be in comparison to the Blackhawk or MEC Cow?

I would imagine it will be life size. Just like all the other vehicles ;)
