Dropped kit animations

hey i was just wondering, with everything looking so real in PR and even the killing is getting realy good, is there any way to make the kits of dead guys look more like they have just dropped their stuff, you know in BF vietnam it had like the rifle in the ground with the helmit on it, something like that but perhaps just laying on the ground????
Would make things cooler and more realistic

i agree with this, it's moronic how the guys backpack falls off him when he dies, never really liked this from the get go. Maybe make the dropped kits just the primary weapons, and for the ones with the exact same rifles, put a wrench, medkit or what not to differentiate them. Hell you don't even really need to do that, since most of the time people don't care to look and just examine the kit when they pick it up(insurgents on basrah are big ones)

well, I don't think its been mentioned in a while

I'd like it also, just have the main weapon, helmet, and an associated thing lying on the floor, e.g. rifleman = grenade, medic = first aid bag etc

If you know how damn complicated this is to implement, you'd reconsider suggesting this.

Search "kit geometry" and "drop bag" in the BF2 Editor forums and you'll find out.

I thinks that dead soldiers shouldn't even drop their kits.

That could add a whole new dimension to pr or p*** off alot of people :)

wouldn't be vet realistic since it would be quite easy stealing a dead guys weapon in real life.

yea but against an army of insurgents with scopes and hats i'd support it. or insurgents picking up medic kits, it's nice on their side but against em its unrealistic.

Just make the kits like the insurgent ones. Like the RPG guy dies RPG on the ground.

And yet, I don't really like the dead players to srip out from their gear.

Could it be possible to let the bodies have their equipment on them?

Read what Chuc said, to change the drop kit model you have to create a new kit geometry.

I don't think just making the main weapon as the kit would be that hard, changing the code to look at the 3P weapon model, no?

Well i dont like that a rifleman, picks up a med kit and he becomes medic(irl a guy without medic knowelage cant become a medic even if he picks up a medic kit, same with sniper, HAT and so, they need to be trained to do that!)

If we had like 200 players servers that would be okay, but when we are assed up with only 32 that is going to be in transport role, armor role, commander role, Squad leader role some realistic things needs to be set aside to give an impression:
That there are more then 6 guys in a sq
There is a huge contact going on and so on.

The code does not exist. Drop bags are bound to kit geometries, and there is no way to force reference another set.
