A suggest :p

Hey I have a suggestion for a Norway vs. Russia map :p
Well I think a battle here in the north would been cool :p

But this is only a suggest, from a crazy guy in Northern Norway...

New plans: (Update)

The invasion of Varanger
Mode: AAS
Size: 4km

Flag info:

Vadsø (Uncap able):
Vadsø is the capitol of Finnmark County. Vadsø have a “Fish Oil Factory” at “Vadsøya” a small isle connected to Vadsø with a bridge. Vadsø also have a military station. Vadsø have a small commercial airport a little outside the city (east side).

V. Jakobselv (Vestre Jakobselv):
V. Jakobselv is a small village with a strategic bridge and one of the best fishing rivers in the world to split up the village.

Varangerbotn:
Varangerbotn is the place where the Varanger fjord ends. Varangerbotn is a small village with a round drive that’s splits up the roads, one to the North side of the fjord and one to the south and one to the west. There is also a small gas station there (the gas prices use to be very low).

Bugøynes:
Bugøynes is a small fishing village. You can see the street lights in Bugøynes from Vadsø and opposite.

Kirkenes airport Høybuktmoen:
Høybuktmoen is a military and commercial airport. Next to the airport is there a military base (GSV = Garnisonen i Sør-Varanger). But that base has been occupied by the Russian forces.

Mountain base:

A little military home made base. The Russian use it to cover the “Norwegian-Finnish Border” at this map.

Road Base:
A small base used to cover and block the road.

Spawn info:

(One runway)
- Logistic trucks: 2
- Cars: 3
- Tanks: 3
- APC’s: 4
- Transport helicopters: 1

Delayed spawns (20 min)

- Extra transport helicopters: 1
- Anti air vehicles: 2

Mountain Base

Inf. base
- Cars: 2
- APC's: 1

Royal Norwegian Forces
Vadsø (at the airport):
(One runway)

- Logistic trucks: 2
- Cars: 3
- Tanks: 3
- APC’s: 4
- Transport helicopters: 1

Delayed spawns (20 min)
- Attack planes: 2
- Anti air vehicles: 3
- Extra transport helicopters: 1

Vadsø (harbour):

Here is some thing the mappers can think about :)
If there is some one out there that's like mapping, try to make it :)

I have info and photos from the area, so if some one wants to make it take contact with me so you can get the photos etc... (I also live in the area)

We already have a thread for suggestions about Norway v Russia, and this technically isn't a map thread either more over a suggestion thread.

On that note, sounds like a cool idea.

Hello everyone.

I really liked Pleym's suggestion, if it was at night or dawn, it would give many opurtunities (spelling?) to create new aproaches to the battle.

If I could vote, I would undoubtly vote yes :) .

We would need models though. So if we could get some modellers on the task maybe it could be done :)

Yepp maybe  But it would been nice, with a little Arctic and dark combat :p

So if there are some one out there that's love the BF2 Editor, do some thing :p because I tried to use the shit :p but there was no chance in the sea :p :-?

Well well, lets see :)

(I have posted a photo of the Northern light here, if that had been the sky at that map it would been awesome:mrgreen :)

GSV I suppose. (If you mean located as in the army)

RedFox, that area is waaaaaaaaaayyy more then 4km, so it should be possible to lower the mountains in the south drastically to make it more fit for PR

Between Vadsø, the Norwegian flag, and V. Jakobselv it's 16km...

Yes but the max size of a BF2 map is 4km...or 8km if you can fix the colormap problem that occurs when "hacking" the bf2 editor to do a map of this size.

Yeah, but I meant that you could "squeeze" the map to fit 4km, then it would be possible to lower mountains and everything

Once saw a guy in a gym with a t-shirt that said something like

GSV
70 degrees north
X degrees east
-42 degrees Celsius

Looking forward to it. ;)

Well, that depends... in Vadsø it's max -20 degrees celsius, but Kirkenes is further away from the fjord/sea so it's a bit colder, but on borderpatrol, I'm sure you can get to -42... I've experienced -30 in jeans, t-shirt and a sweather... that's cold. You'll have a little more clothes when on patrol, though you'll stay out for much longer in colder weather. I don't excactly envy you.
