I did a search but nothing really came up. Does anybody know when we can expect sights for the stationary machine guns and 3rd slot machine guns in cars?

TBH you wouldn't really benefit much from them because of the way they're used, at least I never thought I would have :\

I've many times wanted to bring up the sights and just had to feel around with tracers. Especially if the target is at any but close range. How many times has everyone mounted one at the VCP and fired on a technical or Land Rover down the road and had to just spray a few dozen rounds before you could walk the tracers on target?

I endorse this idea, it shouldn't be that hard to fix, right? And if players would rather just spray and pray without sights, well they can go ahead. I'll just kill them because Rambo doesn't play pr.

i think it would be cool, and if that happend the spray and pray works close ranfe, the aiming works long range=P

i would luve it if someone named Rambo went crazy on you next time you play and has like 100 kills and no deaths

Well on 7gates the chineese stationary machine-guns are very useful, but they dont have iron sights, ive been waiting for that to be fixed since 075, but nobody did that.(im expecting stationary machine-guns with iron sights in 0.85)

I enjoy walking the rounds in. With the piss poor deviation on them they would be just like mounted sniper rifles.

Isn't it hardcoded tho.

And if your talking about the small triangle, turn your graphics settings up a notch. I used to have that problem on the landy and when i switched to all medium/high it looks beautiful.

Oh right, in that case I think it is hardcoded. I know that the reloading animations are hardcoded also, that is why you only hear the sound.

Not too sure tho, would need someone else to confirm this.

I was talking about the stationary machine guns the ones that are actually not in a vehicule for an exemple 7gates is full of them, the 3rd person MG's shouldn't be hardcoded because you can change your view in vbf2 if you are in a car.

Yes its Happycoded, old theme though, there was a discussion about it, anyway they would have done it till now if it wouldn't been happycoded

Poor analogy....

When using a stationary gun you have no zoom, and your location and stance are permanently fixed, making u an easy target. Even when you duck, you can still get your head split. They are far from being "mounted sniper rifles." Just because they're accurate doesn't make them effective

And I sure as hell don't enjoy walking rounds in.....those split seconds of inaccurate fire can easily be enough for your target to get cover and/or return fire.

I'm all for increasing the cone of fire on these guns, a slight increase will actually improve its effectiveness, but not so much as to make the gun useless.

I'm waiting patiently for proper irons to come out, I'm sure they will be done eventually.

like the sights on the RIB (except not bugged)

Never used the RIB sights what are they like?

And I think that if proper ironsights are not possible, then I'm afraid that a mid-screen crosshair like in vBF2 will have to be re-introduced. Why? Because it's more realistic that you are able to aim accurately, like in real life, than have to spray around and walk tracers onto a target. Maybe the crosshair could be designed like the gun's ironsights, to maximise realism in a flawed system.

Stu.

Thats a good idea stu, have a crosshair that covers the bottom half of the screen with a picture of a gun sighted in. It wouldn't be 3d, but it would be more realistic then it currently is.
