VIP mode - With a twist!

Ok, i could find no other reference to this idea but i do apologise if it has been suggested before. (and sorry for the long post)
My idea is something of a combination of the insurgency game mode and the VIP game mode from way back when. Instead of of the coalition forces needing to protect the VIP however, switch the roles. Make the VIP a member of the insurgent team, as a sort of "militant leader" role. The idea being that coalition forces would obtain "intel" from kills which would indicate the VIP's postion much the same way as the insurgency game mode does with caches. (Obviously the intel increments would have to be much smaller to provide more regualar updates on the mobile VIP) Once the VIP is located the objective would then be to ARREST him, not kill him (as this, in my mind, would be too easy)Arresting him could subtract from the insurgent tickets, whist killing him would yield no change (except a waste of time for the coalition). The VIP could also be somewhat similar to the civilian class i.e. unarmed-in the interest of game balance and a suicide=arrest penalty-to prevent "you'll never take me alive" tactics.

Sounds interesting. I'd call it "smear the queer" and reminisce about days long passed. You probably get kicked out of school nowadays if you play this game (and call it that). You'd want to make the "queer" have to do something 'loud' every so often so he doesn't get too good of a hiding place (inside a wall), or make it that he has to drive a car the whole time - maybe?? I dunno.

Welcome to the forums, this would probably be a hard to find topic. But I do remember it being discussed, but my search has also come up empty.

I'd like the mode, but it would probably take too long and afaik it would need som1 to volunteer to pick up the VIP's kit on the insurgent team, which is also stressful :)

I think the only problem will be some new guy or idiot will stumble upon the VIP and shoot him on sight.

I suppose you could use the same sort of script (if you can call it that) that is used in vanilla for the UAVs.

nope...

What would be good for this mode of "Kill the Enemy Leader", would be a palace/large building and well defended Middle Eastern/Chinese city, complete with bunkers, sandbags, razorwire, and other fortifications. The map would have to be somewhat small, maybe with Blackhawks/Littlebirds, etc. to insert. The enemy commander would have to be killed for the game to be won. The whole city could have a "enemy deathzone", so the leader couldn't just leave and hide in the desert and would be encouraged to take refuge in the large building. The US team would have to use explosives and pimp insertion techniques to get inside where ever the enemy commander was hiding, whether it be the palace or some random building. The intel points could be used to show the general location of where the leader just was, and it would be best to space them out accordingly. Plus, it contributes to the reality factor of PR, because lots of missions are conducted looking for terrorist leaders in compounds, cities and villages.

I like the idea, but I think you would have to put it on small urban maps. Cause if I was on the insurgent side I would just have everyone hide. If you where on a map like Kashan you'd never find anyone. Great idea and welcome to the forums/Community.
