Im prob being stupid but I loaded up the British Basrah map last night and spawned at the VCP I then noticed the barrat sniper rifle and picked it up - i could aim but i couldnt fire anything - is it a bug or have i done something wrong

I'm about 99.999% sure you need to be prone to fire, which was added to simulate the weight and caliber of the rifle.
