Simulation wise PR wins but for fun factor I don’t think you could top AIX

Just played AIX 2 mod and got to say that it was a joy to play for sheer fun….granted there is not the squad play that adds to PR but it’s a joy to fire there extended range of weapons, its amazing what they offer… air models are close to normal BF but sheer joy to be able to feel in control of the helicopters..

You can run which I forgot how important it is tactically when in PR its missing…..it’s a bit on the Rambo side with regards to the sheers fire power on offer to each side bit its certainly different and looks fantastic…

Plan to play this till the next PR patch then see what’s what. Simulation wise PR wins but for fun factor I don’t think you could top AIX………Tried FH2 but its rather poorly done with regards to maps and tactics its more about meat grinding :o ops:

Everybody has his own perception of 'fun'.

I would rather slave at a round of Al Basrah, not receiving much contact, but having a great squad, than bunny hopping with a bunch of 5 year olds.

My definition of fun is moving squad wise and completing hard objectives.

PR is getting abit less fun with its stamina, and all the restrictions

I like AIX. It's a great mod, it's not anything like PR but you know, sometimes it's fun to get in the made HIND version and just lay waste to everything around you.

Clivewil made some awesome jets as well. He's still going to make some more. Said something about trying to make an F14. Now that is going to be awesome.

The only props I would give to AIX is the jet models look really crisp and so many different aircraft.

I'll stick to squadplay not 'Nilla rambo noobishness it's why I sought out PR in the first place. There's no going back to that childish nonsense, you couldn't pay me.

Not having a go at PR at all, just found it fun. I cant fault PR when you get the right server and squad all working away hard………..got to say that capturing a Flag with one player was the only disappointment I had in the short time I played….if you could add that it takes three then it might promote squad play more…

Its not about bunny hopping as some said which shows ignorance in there part to not see past the few times you might see that…..I don’t know if being like a big Army Toy shop is good or bad but fantastic to see such a range of things to fly and fire…..

In PR I think I’m disappointed if I die…which is good but it can annoy when at times I don’t know why I’m missing said target at close range and find the helicopters not the stable platform they should be…or get run over time after time as I’m in treacle when I run. Also the grenades were fantastically modelled the throwing part and distance……in AXI

Be interesting finding all the plus and negatives……..must say I was playing PR or not playing….But AIX looks on par with regards to how well done the mod is….and certainly the work put in.

AIX did my head in. most maps were all about smashing infantry to hell with bombers.

My definition of fun is Thailand, 10 days, and only 10 dollar!

aix is not fun really, explosives from heli cannon and rocket launcher dont do enough damage. if i was to choose the most fun bf2 mod except for pr it would be hard justice

Yup, PR is actually one of my favorite game. I prefer it to some expensive game such as Call of Duty 4.

Ballistics are well done in it, they look fantastic at the very least. The tanks do seem to have traction and although my few games there were a tactical mess with everyone just more or less working singly there seems still to be a feel for quality.

The major gripe is there is just too much stuff at any one time…….there is no control over the fire power on the map…they seem to be designed to cater for every players whim and needs……..

If they cut down the assets, giving them some Value and thought about the playing of the maps instead of making everything available, all of the time…. More is in fact less……….but its still some mod.

Were as PR has an aim bringing BF close to the reality of modern armed forces and the way they fight, this seems lost in its infinity of arsenals I’m actually expecting to find a Nuke on one of the maps…………….that’s usable.

Played AIX, liked it just for the aaaaawesome A-10 :D Meh, I like every game, every mod is made for different purposes for a different audience, so each mod unless based for the same audience cannot be compared.

Yeah cause mine, is a squad moving to the flag shown on AAS, taking fire, returning fire, shouting medic like hell, gettin revive, crush the enemy, receive backup from air support and push foward to the next flag.

God Bless PR & Teamwork.

I find both PR and AIX fun and IMO there isn't much difference aside from AIX having more assets and weapons and faster game play. Like you don't get killed by jets and tanks in PR?
