M4 Deviation

Ok, so I've already posted this in the Bug thread before but everybody ignored it so I thought might as well make my own thread. I've been enjoying PR SP for quite some time now but for the most part I've been avoiding the USAr. This is because the M4 has virtually no deviation for me. I've looked and searched through the forums and the closest thing to a solution I heard was lock the fps at 30, which I did but to no avail. I tested the limits of the M4 to help prove the ridiculousness of the nonexistant M4. I was able to take out an insurgent 100 meters away from me on Ramiel, standing up, without using iron sights, shooting rounds every half second. Hopefully somebody can give me insight as to why this is happening for me. It's definitely not fps.

PS. Every other gun has normal deviation.

Maybe they cut the deviation purposefully. Although I don't see how you could be accurate 100 meters away with no sights. I've used the M4 and it's very accurate, but I have had a couple deviated shots.

There are no deviated shots for me unless I am moving while shooting. The first theory is a bit questionable since every other gun excluding the m4 has usual deviation.

Look at the code, PR SP's M4 is way more accurate. Hmmm :p

So you did change the deviation. Whew, I thought all this time it was supposed to be just as it is in MP since that's what I've heard in every thread I've looked in. But since the M4 deviation is changed, is there any changes in the other guns because they seem much much less accurate? And if not, are there any plans for them to be changed? I had had it engraved in my mind that the weapons were not changed from their mp counterparts all this time so I'm very relieved to hear that it's not just me... although quite embarrassed for causing such a fuss.

I read somewhere that the SP deviation was loosely based on what it was going to be set for .85MP, but thats also LOOSELY based on, youre running on a local game, and that info is also old...

So, I dont know if other guns were altered as well... i would assume so, but I havent payed SP ;) Also, dont assume youre gonna be able to hit unscoped in .85MP because of this "losely based on" stuff ;)

I wish I knew where I heard that... If I did, Id link you :| but for now its just hearsay ;)

Yep another mistake and it looks liked it slipped through the testing....
I'll do some changes and included them in Map Pack 3 as an update.

Sorry... :o ops:

Definitely no reason to be sorry.

The current SP rifle setting is not even close to being 100% accurate (deviation wise), so giving either version the proper 2+ second set up time would make it difficult to tell.

Not to mention lowering the 'stand' deviation to 1.5 would not give you the ability to pull the trigger every half second and constantly kill bots at 100 meters while shooting from the hip...lol

hang on, hang on, so, you actually like the deviation in multiplayer? Its not completely off putting and random, yer sure the M4 may be quite accurate but its better than shooting at a bot and then getting knifed due to deviation....

.85 should be sorting this though hopefully, so lets just wait and see :D

No, it just makes it inconsistent between armies and their weapons.

the only thing i would change is the brightness of red dot/ acog , and the time it takes to sight weapons in. because in reality i can sight my weapon up pretty fast. just seems a bit on the slow side. for hiting targets 150m and closer should be quick and easy. though somtimes it seems like the weapon ingame somtimes doesnt agree with the shooter like it would in the real world. especially when prone. accuracy is awsome in the prone unsupported/supported. and kneeling.

both deviation and sight in times are being adjusted for .85
