This time i did use the search function and nothing popped up about this so heres my idea.
Crewman are given the power to plant attack markers and move markers. There have been many times where the gunner and driver do not see the same thing without calling out the bearing. There can also be numbered or colored attack markers for your tank. There have also been people without mics that cant say anything and have to type. Thoughts

Is it not hardcoded? I think that's what the last thread boiled down to. Or I could be mistaken.

I would think, that to put attack/defend markers down you have to be SL, so to allow Crewman to put down attack markers would tamper with squad system, which just means we can't do it IIRC, but that's what I think

hardcoded, prolly, as the SL can then we can argument isnt too good, AFAIK only COs and SLs may place markerss

Yea, sounds pretty hardcoded. Good (re-)idea though.

You could use the lazier designated system. The tanker or gunner looks at the target puts a marker ["lazes it"] and a marker pops up. The whole team might see it but what eves.

iirc you can put the contact marker on anything and it shows up on everyone elses screens as a ?
i have used it several times with tanks and it works decent, as long as you haven't got a squadleader marker in the way that it locks on to.

That's a good idea but that would interfere with CAS lazes (what we need is a system to switch between targets), and b. (afaik) you would be able to see enemy jets/helos coming because the lazing system uses the locks from vBF2 Air-to-air. (its like sticking chaff on the target).
I may be dead wrong here but thats my two cents.

might be able to just use a different ammunition type than the lase markers. while your at it, i would change the retical, so instead of being a small green box, it could be a targeting box like you have in gunships. that might solve the problem and look pretty neat too.

What's the system used for Engineer mine markers? It could be possible, somehow, to allow a crewman in a vehicle to create a map marker at long range without hacking the squad system.
