I personally love Project Reality ... but i hate re-downloading the client as i have a limited amount of bandwidth i can use each month :? ??:

Is there anyway that the next version of PR could be a patch rather than a full client ?

I have downloaded the core client , and am going to download the levels soon .... or should i wait for PR 0.85 ?

Thanks ;)

-0.85 is a patch. If it's too difficult to dl the mod you could try getting some other forum members from the site to mail you a copy, shouldn't be too hard in the UK.

Hardly think 0.85 will be incremental patch, it brings alot of new content, and will be more like a new version then a version-fix.
The size of the download will only continiue to grow..

Do you think i should wait for the new PR to come out ? Or just finish downloading the levels for now ?
Thanks for the replies

Set it to download at nights and other times no-one is using the computer/bandwith.
I see no reason not to, even if it goes slow..

As bjoffe said, 0.85 will only be released as a full version.

His problem is he has a limited amount that he can use in a month, not that its simply slow ;)

.85 is bringing a LOT of new stuff to PR so even though its .85 its going to probably be big.

From what I remember, most times, patches result in little problems, theyre difficult to deal with[from a DEV perspective] and I think its just simply easier to make it a whole new download.

As mentioned though, Im sure you could find someone willing to mail you a DVD or something :) Or go to a local library and take a thumbdrive and download it there ;)

And as for maps, youll have to update them each release because changes are ALWAYS being made to them, whether physically or through code[vehicles, CPs, etc]

Have 20gb aswell, same problem sometimes, just make sure to back up the files you do download, saves re-downloading them ;)

How about the torrents?

Simply download when you have some spare bandwidth, pause when you don't and re-continue when you do.
