I play PR since 0.5 or 0.6. And loved it ever since. But the last few days, I haven't had really exciting rounds with PR. Long waiting till we get some action on "Op. Barac.". Stalemates at EJOD. Bad squadleaders, bad squadmembers (no offense to anyone Ive been in a squad lately ) ect ect.
A bit of everything that doesn't make PR fun to play.

So out of boredom, I decided to start up vBF2 once again. I was suspecting everything that every PR player says about vBF2 and that I would leave the server screaming!
But I was very disappointed.
Yes I DID encounter dolphin divers / 1337 kids / vehicle raping / nade spammers. But it didn't bother me at all. I actually had fun.

No fear of blowing your cover and getting killed. Just pick a gun and run shooting. Wasted a tank? No problem, a new one spawns in just a sec.


Don't get me wrong, I still love PR, but I needed a bit of a break of it, and playing vBF2 for a short hour (played 4 maps in 1 hour) was a nice change of pace. Also it made me realize what an amazing thing the DEVs made out of the game.

Nilla is great for a few laughs when you just don't have the time or frame of mind to play a full round of pr.

When I feel ramboing, I play other games like TF2 or CSS, but not nilla...

The Aix bf2 mod is great for a break from PR.
Its mostly coop and all the bots are coded seperately.
Quite entertaining i find.

Although vBF2 is also a good break as well i find.

Always when i try vBF2, i just freak out because an idiot teamkills me or I get killed by a randomly threw grenade. It's just so useless. In vBF2 there's no meaning. It doesn't make any difference when you capture a flag or something like that. In PR, it's just awesome when you're totally pinned down and finally those reinforcements arrive. Or when you finally cap that flag after a long firefight.

i some time play bf2 too if you play PR alot bf2 seems like cartoon from 40's

Honestly, what did u expect by making this thread? Its pretty obvious that vBF2 while being arcadey is really fun and relaxing. PR is also fun, but on the upper level.

I look forward to BF:Heroes.... I think that will be fun...(for a while)

while im not sure il ever go back to vbf2 {its just a total clusterF}, some of the other mods out there are pretty fun and are slightly more arcadish. operation peacekeeper is a very well made mod, its great playing as the german army, theres some cool effects too. and i highly recommend the eve of destruction vietnam mod. its tons of fun and in my opionion a very overlooked mod.

Meh last time I went back I was behind a crate healing two other guys and all of a sudden someone on the other team headshotted all three of us in like 0.1 second with the bolt-action L96...yarly.

eh its ok for a bit.....but it just gets old fast again...spam at karkand is ok for like 2 or 3 rounds max...then it dies

I usually play some Natural Selection when I need to get some quality variety.

I wish my vanilla worked sometimes, so i can release my l337 juice all over those sad sad kids.

I played it last night and I cried because it sucks so bad.

Played it recently. It wasnt too bad, but well... boring. Nothing you do changes anything. It didnt matter what flag I captured, what tank I destroyed or how many I killed, they'd be back in 10 seconds anyway, and the flag would go as soon as some random lone wolf sniper/spec ops/medic with uber G36E that he has though his army doesnt support this weapon appears at the flag, jumping out of a blackhawk that he lets crash into the next hill, para's down on the flag and waits for like 20 seconds, and the flag is taken again. Then he leaves, and as soon as he does the flag is full of artillery spam.

Taking flags isnt fun either. You approach, maybe even stealthy, but as soon as you're there its usualy no enemy anywhere around it, or you get arty- nade- and god-knows-what-else-spammed due to an all-seeing commander putting a holy UAV into the air over the flag. And if you're lucky and there's noone, you'll get arty'd as soon as you cap it. Unless you run away fast enough. And if there actually are enemies, you may shoot them, but they'll spawn right on top of you again before you can capture the damn flag.

Medics don't care about anything, just throw their bags around so that sometimes maybe one runs over them so they get score. But, who needs medics anyway? Why not just wait 10 seconds, you can respawn anywhere on the map anyways.

Nothing you do matters. At the end its just a hunt for score. Largest e-penis wins. (Had most teamwork points, member of best squad and best in nearly every supportive class btw ... Yes, it was just a score hunt.)

The last time I played vBF2 was a while ago and all I used was the SRAW/Eryx against infantry... Good fun
