Is it just me or is this a common problem?
Looking at hotelroof from 285m.
Looking at hotel from 381m
Not looking at hotel 381m
If it is a common problem, why does it happen and can it be fixed?

I think this might be how the battlefield 2 engine works... It looks like it's a skybox but I'm not sure... I've definately noticed this myself especially on Al Basrah

use it to your advantage , use the sides and mainly top of screen to see further

It's because EA rushes their games/developers to produce faster to get papers with dollar signs on them and because it bribes/fools game reviewers so that they don't mention the things.
Just look at Spore...
1.5/5 from 4000+ reviews on Amazon.
4.5/5 from "Game reviewers" lol.
Dice are great developers and make good games but this thing really got rushed.

To outline the problem, I've (badly) drawn some pictures illustrating it.
vs
Cleary,

So looking through the sides of your screen enhances your view, an advantage often overlooked.

Glad I could help
It's weird though that the fog is like that instead of a concentric form, which would also make the game look smoother when turning around and such. Oh well, I guess common sense does not make the transfer between practicality and profit margins
I find I'm able to find enemy tanks faster on Kashan by looking through my peripherals at 0x zoom (though I have to squint on the screen) than at 50x zoom at the center of my screen.
