more torque for tanks

hello my suggestion is to give the tanks more torque. i was playing kashan and trying to navigate through the mountins in a tank and as many know its verry frustrating. my suggestion to give the tanks a boost or more torque like you press the SHIFT key on a truck. i think its nessesery because its just frustrating and in reality a tank can probably go up a 70 degree slope.

Theres your problem m8, most tanks can't do more than 60 degree with some as low as 30 degree, translate that IRL and its closer to 50 degree when you add the loss of power as the tanks grow older, wet or loose ground and even worn tracks/track pads. Tanks were never designed for mountain trekking :(

They could do with a bit more torque even for the smaller inclines, but unfortunately torque doesn't exist in the BF2 engine as a separate entity from what I remember. Speed and torque do the same job in BF2.

The only tank I have problems with is the chinese one, and maybe the MEC one to a lesser degree.

I find that the blufor ones have better torque ingame, and this makes them less stressful to drive and more effective and that is my only complaint really.

or am I just insane?

Yes there really could be same kind of little extra boost like e.g. APCs have.

Like I said before, the reason your getting more torque with things like the APCs is due to them also being faster, the engine groups the 2 values into 1 as far as I know.

Some of it's due to the coding too, apparently the vanilla models have some buggyness or something that effect their handling. So that's why alot of the PR/USI/any other mod they use models from vehicles handle alot better.
