Developing a Quick Reference Map Tool

Our clan is new to PR and is still getting to know the maps. We are building a visual list of the maps that will fit on one page to make it easier to find desired maps. Some of the images need to be replaced before we go final.

- We would like to replace the Ramiel, Operation Barracuda, Bi Ming, and Operation Archer map images. Could someone provide a link or post the images in this thread?

- Are there any existing maps missing from the page?

- How many maps are coming out with the upcoming PR 0.85 release?

Thank you for your assistance.

Would be good to go final on this project, but I need some assistance.

Does anyone have a better Operation Archer map image? If so,could you provide a link or post the image in this thread?

Are there any existing PR maps missing from the page?

Thanks. See you on the Project Reality Battlefield!

Barracuda is USMC, not british^^ Unless that gets changed, which I'd doubt, as the only carrier we have is the Essex.

I had, at one point, attempted to put out a "strategy guide" for each map; if you search around you might find the two or three I did before realizing it was fruitless. I think AAS v3 is going to totally replace v2, so those are obsolete anyways.

Need to add the following maps with the PR v0.85 update:

- Asad Khal (MEC vs UK)

- Fallujah West (USMC vs INS)

- Karbala (USA vs INS)

- Kozelsk (RUS vs CHE)

And, fix the Barracuda map to change from UK to U.S. and get a better Archer map.

A number of the factions have changed for the maps.

Barracuda - U.S. instead of UK

Fools Road - Russia replaced UK

Mestia - Russia replaced UK

It would be good to get the other insurgent flag and the Taliban flag.

And, the post above this one requesting maps still stands.

Does anyone know when the "Guide" button at the top of the forum will be Un-password protected?

You know you have all of these yourself mate?
  • Get the .dds plug in for photoshop from nvidia.
  • Then navigate (for example) to
    C:\Program Files\EA GAMES\Battlefield 2\mods\pr\levels\albasrah
  • Then in client.zip go to
    hud/minimap/ingamemap.dds
  • Now open that in photoshop and you've got it.
Just not sure if you already knew this or not?

Hope this helps.

Is there an official or unofficial map size unit of measurement?
So, for example:

Silent Eagle - ........... 4 km wide and 4 km deep

Strike at Karkand - .. __ km wide and __ km deep
Highway Tampa - .... __ km wide and __ km deep

White Pass - ........... __ km wide and __ km deep
Atacama Desert - ... __ km wide and __ km deep

If I understand you correctly, in PR we have 1x1 km, 2x2km and 4x4 km maps, and we are using the whole map.

In vBF maps you cant go to the very edge of the map - example Strike at karkand, you cant go there to the SE corner of map (trespassing zone). So for vBF maps the measurment like 1x1,2x2 etc. is useless...
AFAIK Karkand is about 1x1km and Highway tampa maybe 2x2, but im only guessing...

The last two maps must be from other mod, i dont know them.

PS: You can measure maps yourself, just load them, stand in corner and put a marker on the other side of map :)
