Hey guys , how's it going ?

for a while now i was woundering that if we win (and hopefully will) the game engine from the MODDB.com , how is it going to be possible to implement that into PR ? simple questions like :

-Will the gameplay change ? or is just the surroundings and atmosphere ?
-What changes that can be added with the new engine ?
-and is it legal to add another engine into BF2 ?

those are the questions for now , but please share your thoughts about this because i dont have a single clue about gaming engines and sources codes or whatever u guys do to edit games

Thanks!

And it shows. ;)

BTW, red on gray is a god awful combination, I think it burned my retina.

Let's see. A new engine would allow game play changes, and some surroundings and atmospheres would change, however, we'd probably port maps.

Having an engine with source code provides a lot of new change possibilities, only really limited by system performance, and the effort and skill of the coders.

As for the 'legal to add another engine into BF2', switching to another engine would mean no relation to BF2, at least the game on the new engine. BF2 is an engine, and just like a car, you can't really have two engines at the same time. :)

Anyways, I'm going to lock this now. The dev team is discussing the matter privately, etc. Seems you guys are going mad with speculation and what not, but there's no assurance that if we win a license for the engine that we would even use it.
