When someone talks on voip from squads 1-8 there are normal yellow colored names on the right, however, when you are in squad 9 they are red. Why is this, does anyone know?

I've seen this happen occasionally since BF2. But I never knew it was in squad 9 only?

Nope, i did not know that either.
Sometimes i don´t have that icon at all. Can be confusing since i don´t know who´s talking.
Is there a button to turn them on and off that i´m not aware of?

Yeah, squad 9 always has red voip names for some reason, while others are yellow.

It makes me feel epic

But that's why I got the red voip icons for the comm match, it all makes sense

its coz squad nine is alsways elite ninja specops

Yea, but in this case it's not the icon necessarily, but the players names. Instead of being red they're white

What about when some players are coloured Orange? Like the commander? But like theyr not the commander... Ive seen that alot, and ive seen Orange people talking.

Anyhoo, I've seen a variety of colours, Red, orange, green, white, I think I've seen a blue, but i can't remember :S

sqd 9 is the 1337 sqd, thats why the names are red.

...sorry for posting on an old topic....
but I have just started using VOIP and when i hold down the transmit button to talk the icon on the right of the screen goes green and then when I talk it goes red.......it seems people can still hear me in the game?!(i hope)...but does anyone have any idea why it goes read when i talk?

Anywho, I've noticed that too. Plus the squadleader's 9 symbol isn't there (Left-alt isn't the problem here ;P)
