How to create sniper squads

I've searched and couldn't find anything regarding this, please let me know if there was some previous discussion or if it's the wrong place to ask.
Basically, I'm not quite sure about ways to create a sniper squad. I understand that the devs want the sniper to have her own squad (so she would report directly to the commander), preferably with a spotter.
Problem is, one can only request the sniper kit in a squad of 3 or more. How am I supposed to create a sniper squad from scratch? The only way I see to do it right now is to join another squad, request it and then leave, which is problematic because
- It annoys the members of that other squad.
- It's possible there isn't any room in other squads.
- The problem is recreated if you die.
Am I missing something here? This just seems wrong. I guess the same could be said about the special forces kit which should also probably operate alone or in pairs, but I'm assuming that kit won't be available in the next release so the point is moot anyway.
If that
is the current situation, perhaps some other system could be implemented to create special squads like this?

-You should be able to request the Sniper kit with 2 members in the squad, same as with Spec Ops kit.

I see sniper squads all the time with just two people in them. They're ultra effective when used correctly too. Which is as recon not super leet hunter killer....

We made a recon squad during a clan match by having one squad leader, one spec ops and one sniper. The SL and Spec ops both had laser designators, the spec ops had a grapple and some explosives, and the sniper the long range viewing with option to engage at distance. The SL would set down a rally way out of the way of the observation point and then all would slowly and stealthily make their way to said LP/OP.
It worked good for larger matches where CAS and commander support was there, but for a pub game you could get called an asset waster with such a sqd. Seems that in pub matches they want everyone rushing the flag so observation is less valued, even when calling in direct shots on maps like Muttrah. Oh well, their loss.

It can work with two, worked extremely well aswell. Three = more likely to be seen.

-I think he's referring to kit requirements. I'm pretty sure I've requested a sniper kit with only two in the squad. But then again, I rarely touch it so I might be wrong.

Generally when I snipe im working with a spotter, which (if he has good VOIP and is experinced is good) but sometime lone sniping wotks fine. I prefer being SL when being the sniper so I can inform my commander about enemy positions, I actually do little of the killing stuff.. And by the way, I dont think you can request spezialised kits unless you have 3 or more players in ur squad

My bad, I'm pretty sure you don't need 3 people, dunno if this would make a difference, what faction were you?

Thermis, Blakeman, Scot, jbgeezer - I appreciate your reply but please re-read my post, I'm asking about the technical difficulty of creating such a squad.

Well join a disorganized squad, find one decent guy and go ahead!

You only need two people in your squad, generally the sniper, and a spotter

I suggest having your spotter be the SL as he can give you attack markers etc when he sees a hostile.

I often play as a RECON/SNIPER Team with a friend and we just need 2 guys in a squad to request. I create a squad, lock it, invite my mate and at start we get a sniperkit and a SpecOps. So technically spoken, it should be possible

My suggestion is, create a squad called something along the lines of : RECON, S&S RECON (sniping and spotting recon), or something to that extent. Your team will give you more credibility in the otherwise ruthless world of pr sniping (I am of course referring to many people who hate snipers because they aren't "teamplayers").
Wait for someone to hop in and then lock it. Preferably you'd be with someone you are familiar with, so you'll be more comfortable with each other anyways.
Now, decide who will spot and who will snipe. I suggest that the spotter play as SL, as they can designate targets for you and the commander (if there is any), as well as use the SOFLAM for an area attack.
Now, you only need two people to request special kits such as the "sniper" and the "special Operations", so request those. The spotter should grab a Spec Ops kit, because in the current pr build it doesn't have much else to do and has a grapple hook as well as the SOFLAM and a good CQB main gun/suppressed pistol if you ever get into that unfortunate situation.
There are many threads on how to function as a sniper squad, so I'll leave those for you to find if you ever want to. To recap the process however, I'll use a list for your viewing pleasure.
- Create a squad with a name indicating your role.
- Wait for a player to hop in it and then lock it.
- Figure out who'll SL and Spot, and who'll snipe.
- Request your kits and position yourself in an advantageous position.
- Happy sniping

My post was to indicate how to set it up and naming it recon. Really if you want to do this easily then join a clan and have them with you when you create said squad.
If you want pubbers with you, then you might run into language, maturity, or gameplay barriers. You really should know the person/people you are going to run with because they need to know how to be stealthy and when to not engage targets. I have tried this with folks I didn't know and the sniper ended up shooting at EVERYTHING and gave our position away several times. I ended up leaving them to it since he wanted kills only and joined a normal infantry squad.
It is possible to do, but easier with a clan.

If you're going to have a spotter make sure he's the HAT. He can blow up anything on the map. HAT sniping is clearly the superior choice.

Personallly, I get 3 people in the squad so that we can set rally points to easily move in to a different role if necessary (though I'm gonna have to change this since supply crates blah blah blah...)
3rd guy can be ammo or medic to help the longevity of the squad, officer is spotter, this also unties the spec ops kit for other uses (again....85 will change this)
Neva get a HAT kit in a sniper squad!
HAT and LAT are for squads that are fighting armour, when I'm in north city in Muttrah and I see a HAT kit on a bloody hill with a sniper, I'll go frickin mental. Their APC comes and kills my squad because we don't have any AT.
LEAVE THE AT UNTIL YOU NEED IT.
