Reactive armour on tanks

I noticed it when i watched the 0.85 teaser.
i looked at the T-90 and thought.."That looks bizare.." At first i didnt know why, but then i saw some pics and noticed, that no PR heavy-tank is equiped with reactive armour. Its just a suggestion for the models, not for gameplay-changes. It would just look pretty nice and more realistic ;)

gotta remake the tank models that were made by EA first, can't just modify their models.

? but they have already been changed? and in addition they built a challenger tank themselves, so where should be the porblem?

cant you just "connect" it with the ea model? Didn't you do the same with the us blackhawk? just attached some little pieces to let it look more epic :D

Well I dont know much about modeling, but this just cam into my mind ;D

skinning is allowed, but changing the actual model is not without express permission of EA/DICE, I'm unsure of the situation regarding the tiny changes to the blackhawk, I think thats something to do with something modlers call 'children'

But afaik there is a T80 being made, a thingy for the chinese, and a very VERY nice m1a1 being made as well by community members. So I'm sure they may use the lastest armour configurations.

you, my idea wasnt making gameplay-changes with this armour.
and i think this armour could count as child.
just 2 textures would be needed, there dont have to be 100 little blocks, it could be one whole ... "entity", dunno what its called in case of modelling

As far as I know, not all reactive armor looks like that. The reactive bits is just another layer that looks like the main armor.

As far as I know, the American reactive armour, which is included in the Urban Combat kit (or whats the name), looks like the one i posted, only a bit bigger charges

Isn't that a Georgian T-72? i think they went a little overboard with the reactive armor boxes on that.

sure why not, I was reading the slat armour thread and they said you just make it another material with unique properties

Challenger2 doesn't use ERA any more in reality though.
We just need some one to model the new CR2 upgrades.
Here is a video of what i'm talking about.

it doesnt have to explode, when you hit it.... for me. just the polygones and textures would be enough for me :)
