Searching "MEC" gives too many results




We all know that it's mysterious "Midle Eastern Coalition" but middle east is a big place
populated mostly by Arabs,Persians(Iranians) and Jews.

The poll won't decide which equipment MEC "should" have,but should show
what people (here) think in regards to who is MEC.
There are many,many different ethnic groups in the ME but I only use the major ones
please don't take offense.


So the choices are:

1.Arabs
2.Iranians (Persians)
3.Arabs and Iranians
4.Jews
5.Jews and Iranians
6.Jews and Arabs
7.Jews,Iranians and Arabs
8.none of the above (explain)

Keep in mind that BF2 is "set" in the near future so who knows what will happen.
(referring to some of the unlikely allies in the poll)

Why? Maybe arabs, persians, jews live in piece in this PR "near future", like they did a LONG time ago.

Oh this makes perfect sense, jews and arabs fighting together, because they have such a history of peaceful coalition. Come to think of it the iranians hate the arabs too, so I very very much doubt they would fight on the same side, what is more iranians speak farsii, which the troops in BF2 do not.

Get a clue guys, if they speak arabic (which they do) they are neither jewish nor iranian.

Therefore they are a coalition of arabic nations (such as Saudi Arabia, Jordan, Libya, Eygpt, etc.)

I personally see it as something like USSR where all nationalities were united into one
big country.Voluntarily or by force is a different question

Arabs are the majority,thus the Arabic was used by EA

MEC's region covers most of the Middle East, actually all nations in Middle East are in MEC's control. However Israel is not. Muslims want to see Israel to be destroyed, so they will never be allies...not in real world, not in PR.

As I said Arabs would also be very unlikely to ally with persians/iranians as there is a lot of historic hatred between the two, many people are unaware of this.

Thinking of them as one and the same is how we got into such a mess in the first place guys, clue up on your middle east knowledge.

I could see Arabs and Iranians (they're not the same !) united against Israel.
The US fought G.B. for independence now they're friends,USSR lost over 30 million
people (in WW2) to the Nazi Germany now they're friends - everything is possible imo

History rarely repeats itself in these matters, as this is the near future, as in ~5 years from now I can see no way that arabs, iranians and jews would ally themselves under one banner.

I think the MEC will be a coalition of USMC, SAS, Iranians, Australians, Cubans, and the Japanese.

And the Chinese and Soviets were the best of friends during Stalins time, then Mao decided that the new Soviet leadership were "revisionists" and they started shooting at eachother. Now, after the fall of the Soviet Union, they are the best of friends again.

I voted for just Arabs. Have always been viewing the MEC as a the military arm of the Arab league. They are apparently active in North Africa (Al Kufrah) so they are more than a "Middle Eastern" coalition. Arab coalition would have been a better name.

I'm afraid you are wrong sir, Iran is a persian country, they do not speak arabic and are of a totally different ethnic backround to arab countries. The Arabs hate the persians, for more information look at the Iran-Iraq war and please don't post things as fact if you do not know that they are.

They're Arabs! They speak arabic in game so they're Arabs. Simple.

They can't be persians, I thrust that DICE is competent enough and they wouldn't record Arab voices for "Persian army" during BF2 development.

They can't be Jews either... what's wrong with you people?
It is possible to have peace between Jews, Arabs and Persians, but having them fighting together against US or GB is pure sci-fi.
