I'm pretty sure that the chopper never warms up in time to be able to save it while its falling.

No, he can't, to fly you must be in Seat 1 of the aircraft.

one time I was fixing a little bird someone had flipped on the carrier but instead of fixing it I fell off the carrier, but I survived! I had just enough power to hover at 100% with half my chopper in the water, what an amazing experience...

I'm going to put this riiiiight here...
Yes, I did crash the Cobra afterwards. It was because I hadn't waited the full 30-40 seconds for the engine to fully warm up again.
I had heard somewhere that there was 10 seconds for engine cool-down, so I decided to try it out and make this video.

it happend to me a couple of times , my pilot got disconnected a few times in cobra's or apache's . all u have to do is simply switch the to the pilot seat and keep pressing W or point ur joystick up and u will lose altitude in that process . i tested it a couple of times along time ago and u need to have an altitude of 200 and up in order to switch to the pilot and start re-gaining control over the chopper

Pfff... You guys are sissies. Real men bail out of their A-10s when being locked-on, sky dive with it, then jump back in and shoot off some rockets, then finally hit a bunker, bounce off, and do a 1337 explosion
Need proof?

Now someone needs to see if it is possible to land a transport chopper after the pilot gets shot out, but without the pilot kit.

about the warthog video, awesome
and if the pilot change seat/leave/disconnect the aircraft it must to warm up if a copilot want to take it. unless devs make the need to warm up without pilot after 10-20 sec without pilot, it will be very hard to retake control. but there also should be something that wont let you get back to copilot seat some time
