[Faction Proposal] Korean People's Army Ground Forces

North Korea has one of the biggest armies in thew world. It will also make a great OPFOR team. The problem is that most of the MBTs and Tanks that NK uses are older, and probably not designed in PR. One example is the T-62, which looks somewhat like the T-72. The Ground forces also use up to the BTR-60s. They could also have jeeps manned with the NSV (A heavy machine gun). Support Gunners would have the RPK and the RPD. NK uses AK-74s (Officers, Special Forces), and AK-47s. NK could have scotus or recon with SKSs,. This could be taken from the Insurgents. The main Anti-Tank weapon is the RPG-7. NK uses Mil Mi-24 Attack helicopters and Mil Mi-8 Transport Helicopters. Their main attack aircraft are the MiG-29s. The main things we need modeling on for this is the Tanks, which are actually based off of old Soviet tanks, but have a different look.
Most of the maps would be based VS South kroea, Coalition, or Japan.

You'd need Korean voices for that, but good idea nonetheless

As long as you have sources for what they use and a plan on what yo want and the progress of it, I'm ok by it

wow the North Korean Army.
Not the most modern army but large enough to make DPRK's promises of turning the peninsula into ashes, some serious warning.
Maybe if this faction is realized the JSDF team could make a map to make a reenactment of the combat scenes of the movie "Sensen Fukoku"
I'm all for this if there's people willing to do it and not already busy with other factions.
A map around the Korean DMZ would be epic.

If you made this faction, you absolutly need to make the South Korean army faction as well!
Agreed there
It would feel like EoD...modern day

(even if it is Korea instead of Vietnam)
My problem with it is that the kit geometry isn't there surely?

Yeah on the DMZ.
If a war ever happened between DPRK and the US/RoK then the De-Militarized Zone in the 38th parallel would be the first place to see heavy combat.

Well, for a start we already have a North Korean based map : Road to Kyongan'ni. So it'd be a good start infantry/light-vehicle wise

The imperialist b******s!
I think it'd be easy enough to balance it out, with armour and stuff you can just do it in a FH2 style with more **** stuff V.S. less good stuff, and with kits then it's a matter of tactics just like militia or insurgents.
Plus you can always just give them a bugger load of tickets to account for them having the 4th largest army in the world

I may add the SKS for the crewman or the Anti-Tank/Anti-Air.
According to Wikipedia (I know its not the most reliable source

but its the only place I can find information on the North Korean army

) the North Korean air force has 36 Frogfoots (or is it Frogfeet

) in service.
Edit: The design plan has been updated slightly

Since both MEC and the Russians use the MiG-29 already - why not go for the MiG-23 or even the Mig-21 (or both?) instead? Both are more widely used than the MiG-29. The Mi-2 or Mi-4 (ugliest chopper ever?) would also be nice as scout/light helicopter.
I also think that the BTR-60 should be their main APC, and we already have a model that's going to be used by the Russians. BMP-1 would then be their IFV.
And can someone please model the TT-33 for the officer?

I understand that quite alot of them are still in use by the NK, and I always love the be reintroduced to old WW2-friends.

What about the Nanchang Q-5?
According to Wiki, the North Koreans have around 40 of 'em:
Nanchang Q-5 - Wikipedia, the free encyclopedia
Isn't there a chienese Q-5 Model from BF2: Armored Fury?
Also... I do like the idea of MiG-29 as DPRK main fighter.
Oh... give them T-34s!
Nah... As MBT I'd go for the T-62s or its North Korean version, the Ch'ŏnma-ho.
Although the P'okpoong-Ho article on Wiki has an interesting claim:
P'okpoong-Ho - Wikipedia, the free encyclopedia

Reports claim that the P'okpoong-Ho's appearance resembles this T-90.
lol... anyone wants to repaint the T-90 with North Korean Ground Force camouflage?
