far distance noises - skirmish maps

On the larger maps theres tanks an stuff providing lots of noise in the background, but on skirmish maps it can get pretty quiet, which is fine, but perhaps it can be more immersive.
and iirc, street used to have ambient noises and I Loved that map with 16 players (is was so small, but the street looked like a proper warzone)
So, on the skirmish maps - i.e. small - I'd support having some artillery...or aircraft overhead noises etc to help immersion.

Occasional dog, bird or plane noise would be nice.

Distant bombing, firefights and jets flying would also be nice.
Played a round of Ramiel with The Gaza Live webcam still running in the background.
That added some new intensity to the game.

Hehe, i just forgot the webcam was running.
It had been quiet for a while, so i started playing.
Some minutes later i hear a distant boom and then fire sirens. I was like wtf..never heard that before but then i realised it was the webcam.

Hahah, if you could somehow code it so there was the local webcams sound or something like that running in the background for everyone when they connect that'd be ace.

that gaza webcam is indeed addictive, I turned it off while playing because it increased latency by 20ms, but every so often when nothing was happening, I'd just go...so...what's happening in gaza atm? and put it on my laptop
that webcam is heavy footage, makes all the news of the fighting etc so much more real

Street Redux in PRSP has really nice ambient noises.

One thing I think is cool abot PR is that the sounds you hear are made by somebody, if you hear gunshots there is sombody firng and so on, I support distant bombing on small maps, but not fictonial firing sounds.

That would require us listening to people dying...and I don't really think alot of people would actually want us to hear people ACTUALLY dieing
