2 seater bomber fix

the tornado and PLAs simular seem to be almost useless on qinling

a a-10 or frogfoot could easly do the task with 1 pilot far better then it seems people do with a pilot+co-pilot in the 2 seater.

qinling also seems to lack people to lase every time i play, which can be a very boring ride for the passenger.

i suggest to fix this and to make the 2nd seat more useful as well as the aircaft more useful is to give the co-pilot TV guided missle capability.

if the copilot could launch from 1000 meters or so away and physical guide the missle in or physicaly find a lase for the missle, this would make the aircraft far more useful.

im sure the vanilla TV guided system plus a few tweaks would be much more realalistic then how it is set up now.

the plan in the future is to make it so the co-pilot has a good designation system of his own, think there is a basic system in v0.85 much like the one the attack chopper uses thou for the future hope to expand on that :)

Nice, would it be manual as well or lase and lock?

In that case, has there been any attempts to make a stabilizer? :p

lots of attempts have been made in the past to make stabilizers for all types of vehicles but without the pilot and gunner being the same player, its really not that possible with the BF2 engine, what we have now is as good as its going to get unless some one comes up with something everyone else has missed :p

I know, I know. :)

I've always wondered though why some vehicles, like APCs, have their turrets move to look in the same direction with the earth as their point of reference, and not the vehicle, while tanks and air assets do not.

That's really all you need to do, though, find a way to script it so that its point of reference is where it's looking at. Would probably be near impossible to code, but it's always worth a shot :p

Yes. The Devs have completely thrown away the BF2 hud and replaced it with a perfect replica of the 2142 HUD, because it is just that great.

It's 2142 all right. EU and PAC flags at the top of the screen, plus 2142's HUD elements.

Shh... I know that, it's got it in the tags as BF 2124. Just don't tell anyone they copied bits of the engine code over :p

Pretty awesome having the turret sentry elements added to PCOs.

Gotta say that 2142 vid was very very very cool.

Once you guys get to the point where all the models are PR/affiliate models it would be interesting to move over...

It's a shame we can't have that in future releases.
This video demonstrates m1a1's fire control system from a yet unannounced realism mod for Battlefield 2142.
Maybe we'll have BF2142: Project Reality. :D

i dont know how good you could make that work. the jets spend most their time above clouds and are very fast. the posibilties of a guy going fast and rideing in a roller coaster being able to stick a lase on a moving tank then have to come in for another pass i think would be impossible.

i think TV guided simular to vanillas for the copilot would be the best and funnest fix.

we should poll it =D
