since the real life insurgents are fanatical and have no real value of their life i was thinking to make them seem more suicidal why not remove the suppression effect from them?like so the americans or brits can still pin them down its just of they wanted too they could still pop up while under fire and shoot back, not much to write about this. any opinions?

This idea sorta makes sense, but won't really contribute to the gameplay I think. Most people don't even duck for cover anyways, and it's not true that all insurgents don't value their life that much. I'm sure some do, or they at least want to stay alive to kill more "infidels" later on. If we're talking about those Jihaders, then yeah, that makes sense.

I am against this for one reason; removing/reducing the suppression effect doesn't necessarily mean that every insurgent will get more aggressive!
- The more tactical/carefull players, who sets up ambushes and executes hit n run/guerrilla warfare will be almost impossible to beat for the coaltion forces in a given ingame scenario (where suppression and flanking is very usefull)!

Afterall it's unrealistic, eventhough... your opinion is
real life insurgents are fanatical and have no real value of their life
which is bullshit, the suppression effect is there to prove the reality, the opposite; human beings fear death, even the hijadists. And for the hardcore ones you talk about, they will also try to stay alive because they know they will perform more damage that way... Say there was a suicide bomber kit, then maybe this suggestion would be realistic.

Yes, I heard somewhere that they are often pumped full of drugs before they go to fight - This makes them more fearless/stupid in some cases but also harder to stop - they aren't as effected by psychologic effects and can also stand a lot more pain and blood loss. Although this might not be the case all of the time. Considering the insurgency mode is based on an almost asynchronos battle they could increase the bleed out time/increase their health and yes, maybe reduced the suppression effect a bit.

Pumped full of drugs? Never heard that before, I know the Afghan security forces smoke alot of Opium and get a little careless, but I don't think they do it to the point where they are fearless bringers of death. Having thankfully never smoked Opium I don't really know what it's effects are, the security forces I saw in the documentary just seemed as dopey as if they'd been sat round smoking weed instead to be honest.

Perhapse a limited "Fanatic" kit could be giving to the insurgents? He can't be suppressed and takes more body or limb hits to be killed, perhapse some kind of suicide bomb in his invectory aswell?

I don't know about the drugs thing, it's known that fighters in Africa, South America, Indo China and Colonial India did use combat stims to make them fearless. I've read nothing about use in the Middle East.

I recall see it in a documentary, it was on the street fighting in iraq although I don't remember the name - I guess you could question the reliability

Edit: Checked with a quick google search and found a page on wikipedia Tactics of the Iraqi insurgency - Wikipedia, the free encyclopedia . Once again i'm not sure on the reliability, one source didn't work and the other didn't show up what they were claiming

"Drug use among insurgents has been reported by coalition forces in Iraq.[4] Insurgents are using amphetamines, methamphetamines, adrenaline shots, and other unknown drugs to boost stamina and (though shortly) prolong their life if mortally wounded so they can continue fighting."
