Behind the lines operations.

What I like to do sometimes on maps that allow it is taking the Spec ops kit avoiding contact as much as possible and disrupting the enemy by taking down outposts and blowing the base while the enemy is fighting elsewhere so they can not be rebuilt, ambushing people lying in ambush shooting people sitting on the AA and planting satchels on them etc.
How do the devs feel about it, is it a legit way to play or do behind the lines operations nerf the opposing team so badly that it takes the fun out of the game ?

I don't see why it would be bad. It's kind of stupid to always fight head on.

sounds like a legitamite tactic to me. Thats probably the type of thing special forces do in real life anyway.

Behind the lines operations can take the game to a whole other level sometimes. I don't get why they're removing the spec ops kit, couldn't find anything about it when searching the forums. Or is some other kit getting the explosives?

Yes it is what SOME branches of SPEC OPS do irl, its mostly the type of mission navy seals did. I just wondered if in this case fun > reality.
I hope the spec ops kit stays. Yes you could give the engineer explosives, but irl he uses them to remove obstacles, thats not how they are used in PR and thats why I feel they are better suited in the hands of a spec ops like character.

Despite the removal of that one particular kit, I'd imagine you would be able to conduct the same kind of operations with even greater ease with 0.85.

Ok, does that mean 0.85 is soon here? Still I think removal of the SF kit is bad.

I still think Special Forces should be rather a part of the scenario gamemode than just a kit.

Had so much fun with the spec-kit today at 7gates, i destroyed all the 9 rallys inside the PLA fortress, 3 snipers with my silenced pistol, and another 2 tow emplacements, then the game ended....

I wish the Devs would disclose atleast some tidbits of information that would give some clearance to issues we are all worrying about including spec ops kit. There is a difference between containing a surprise and simply making people pissed off.

Nooooooooo! Spec Ops is one of my favorite kits, and I love doing behind the lines operations, disrupting enemies, taking down assets, and spotting for my team.

wasn't me, but another very cool dude
if they do that you only have 2 choices - go offroad, or spray the outside of main with HEAT, then go slow with an engineer to check for mines
