Commanche was canceled. Not going to happen in this mod.

Because the program was scrapped.

From what I know, the military thought it was too expensive to mass produce the weapon. Although a bit more advance and mobile than the Kiowa, its too much really. Since most of our forces are directed against third world nations, theres just no need for such technology atm.

In the event of a declared war with China, we are dusting these off and cranking them out.

Yes, they get to the production lines and are too expensive.
But what happens when a war appears and the US ends up fighting a strong nation?

The only real strong threat to the US is China, and we wouldn't need stealth attack helos to fight them. The AH-64 and AH-1W are better then any attack helo the Chinese have.
I admit the Commanche was an amazing piece of weaponry but it was never needed.

But a Commanche might make the difference and save some potentialy vunerable pilots.

Thing is, I think only a few dozen or so (maybe more maybe less) commanches existed in protoype form. By now they've probably all been decommsioned since theres no point in maintaining something your not going to use. Chances are, the U.S would spend more money on producing more abrams tanks or other gorund forces due to the sheer size of the PLA. It would take time to get the commanche operational, almost pointless too since the Kiowa Warrior serves for recon purposes, and the Apache and Cobras are already enough in terms of attack helos.

One thing i dont get is the Cobra, why have a Cobra when you could have an Apache.
I think its the British Army who exclusively uses the just Apache for the role. (Lynx anti-tank TOW launchers have been phased out)

The Marines have used Cobra variants since Vietnam and has proved that in could hold its ground against any other attack helo. Same as the Marines using Huey's instead of switching over to Blackhawks.

So PR should include Huey's instead of Blackhawks and i know the age of the Cobra. So the only big difference in the Cobr-Apache duo is the price?

The thing about the Marines is, if it ain't broke, don't fix it (or change it for that matter). Also the Army gets a bigger budget than the Marines, so no point in wasting money on something thats just slighty newer and better than what you have. It would be like me going out to purchase an Alienware PC. I don't have the money to, nor do I need it.

If PR plans on using Marines as the main US fighting force then yes. Would be more realistic to see the Marines in Huey's then Blackhawks.

So the Army (who are just regulars) get the best and can say to the elite marines "Cheap beach hopping idiots".
I do like the Cobra thogh, its like the TVR of helicopters.

Basically, yes. Marines have always been underfunded when compared to the other branches.

Look here, see how sexy the helicopter is, althogh they are smaller they carry a similar amount as the Apache -- I doubt that it has AAM pods as standard thogh.
