Maybe we could model them slightly after the current Iraqi army. They look pretty cool, especially compared to the in-game MEC

But that's not what insurgents are, they are gangsters with AK-47s wreaking havoc on both military and civilian populations. Plus they don't have aircraft or tanks, just small arms, AT rockets and trucks/cars.

I really don't want to see an insurgency of any kind in PR. Maybe terrorists because they actually have technology

I would think a proffesional military (US&UK) versus another proffesional military (MEC&China) would allow for a variety of engagements to occur.

Insurgents don't have access to tanks, helicopters or jets so it would either be all infantry (which isn't what PR is aiming for) or only having one side have the vehicles, which isnt fun for the other side.

Full scale battles with everything available provides more action and fun for everyone. I think the MEC are fine, yes they could use a few touch ups but other than that leave them be as they are a great opponent.

MEC assaults are too fat

You could have mini battles with small infantry detachments being dispatched to quell local uprisings of civilans thereby leading to them being insurgents.

I have the perfect idea for an insurgent team and maps for them.

Insurgent team:

Assualt: AK-47, 4 mags, gp-25, 2-3 grenades, no body armor
Medic*: AK-47, 2 mags, bandages
Engineer: Skorpion vz 61 , 2 mags, 1 IED
Support+: RPK-47, 3 drums of ammo
Antitank: RPG-7, 1 PG-7VR grenade(for heavy armor), 3 PG-7VM for anit personal/light vehicles, maybe a pistol
Special forces(assualt variant): AK-47, 5 mags, 3 hand grenades

*insurgent medics won't revive, just heal
+insurgent support won't throw ammo

Now, these are pretty crappy kits when compared to the armies they will face, but my map idea makes this work.

Basically, this would be a map where USMC or British forces attempt to capture a section of a city. There would be many spawn points in the map with the U.S. starting only in control of either one uncappable or a few cappable points. The insurgents would control the vast majority of the cities points. There would be no AAS in these maps. The insurgents would also have much more points then the army they face.

The insurgents, with their many spawn points, would be able to atack from basically anywhere and would be very hard to pinpoint. They would lose their spawns very easily to an organized force, but would easily be able to capture others that were left ungaurded. What we get in the end is a chaotic battle that is also a game of cat and mouse. If USMC or Royal Marine forces can't organize attacks or defenses well they will never gain control, the insurgents on the other hand have an advantage in using chaotic hit and run tactics.

I'm a bit too tired to put my idea down the way I meant to present it, but you guys get the gist of it.

Or time could be spent on the existing armies and the addition of the UK.

It's been said before, we won't do insurgents. The conflicts will be between two organised armies. That is also the only way to make it realistic.
Insurgents don't find large scale wars, and don't use a whole lot of battle tactics. They're more like a group of unhappy people encouraged by prominent (religious) figures to take up arms agains some sort of oppressor.

The MEC and China teams are fine but when the mod is done and the Devs want to do more here are couple of teams i could think of:

Armenia, Azerbaijan and Georgia and Southern Russia team together (Like the MEC) as the USSR [United States of Southern Russia] with a goal of resurecting defiance for the west.

Northern/Middle Africa; There are too meany countrys to specify.

Angolia and Cuban mercenarys attacking southern Africa and the west intervien. Cuban mercenary's were used in the bush.

Columbia and Argentinia and other South American countrys.

Matters which insugent factions. Al queerda or whatever attack civilians and try start sectatrian wars. They captured baghdad by letting off 10 car bombs.

There is the Mahdi Army which was formed by Students and Al Sadr in a university.

I tohught it would we interesting to play, even if unbalenced.

Why do you want the IDF in this mod. They're a defence force.

No... Stupid -- You claim they are allies of the west and now you want to change the MEC into them.....

I don't think you understand the situation in Africa if you think any of those countries will band together.

I'd love to see the Russians though, especially as they are having a resurgance in political and military stakes right now, but in terms of organised warfare they might be discounted.... :P

Also I'd like to see an ANZAC force - I know they are exactly like the British but in an Asiatic/Eastern conflict of a large enough scale I'm sure those two countries would lend support

So over all, who would you rarther fight?

As in if I was on the ground who would I want to fight?

Probably Russia - they are disorganised and underequipped. The Africans are had to make a blanket judgement on, Egypt for example has some strong units and I'd prefer to fight SpetzNaz than them.

In game too it HAS to be russia for the pure ex superpower rivalry!

I agree. Jelocy, rivalry and competitive'ness can gradualy start wars.
