Why dont you try overlclocking your video cards! Search in google for the way to do if for a nivida or a ati card, some will go more than others but do it little by little to see the max you can push it.. clean out your computer case before you try. get all the dust off the CPU and GPU, it makes a heat blanket!. you can usually go up 100 mhz on GPU and 100 mhz on Video Ram on a nvidia card with no problems... Also checkdisk your computer and close everything and your antivirus before playing pR, thats everything by the clock on the bottom right too! running AV while playing games kills it.... or if you want to spend like $80 bucks go to TigerDirect.com - Computers, Computer Parts, Computer Components & Electronics and buy the NVIDIA 9600 GSO video card with 768mb ram.. CHeck out their memory prices tooo! no idont work there but Im in IT for a living and they have the best deals on everything.. way better than best buy or something...

I run max resolution and medium settings on a Pentium D 2.8ghz overclocked to 3.1 running 2 gigs of OCZ ram and a NVidia 8600 with a little overclock (100mhz + on each) im running vista 64bit with no problems playing PR on medium with good res and most new games with a good resolution..

If anyone wants any help overclocking PM me with your hardware specs and I will try to see what I think you should try!

Interesting. i know few things about CPU overclocking but anything on GPU OC.
MY specs are
core 2 duo 6400 (2.13 Ghz)
2GB ram on 800 Mhz
Nvidia XFX 7300 512 GT with passive cooling system.

WIth everything on high and AA x2 i have 40-60 FPS but when grenades, explosions, smoke etc are in my way i drop to 20, what could i do? (except upgrading)

Overclocking your GPU isnt an option with your passive cooling.
C2d overclock very well, just google for it, theres a plethora of ppl out there that have written up more knowledge about this than we could ever gather together.

I've always considered overclocking, and this thread renewed my interest.

I've overclocked my GeForce 7300 GTS, by a little bit and it already runs things better. I'm going to try the CPU next.

There's lots of info about overclocking out there just do it in baby steps and one piece at a time so that if things get unstable you know which step to back out. Overclocking will increase heat loads on cpu/gpu/ram as well so watch the temps.

And as cetniksoldier said get the dust out of the system using computer approved air cans or a blower (not an air compressor that uses oil for lubricant!)

Defragment the hard drive as well, I prefer JKDefrag over the windows version.

All i'd add is to be careful when cleaning dust off - see above comment. And also run through the tweak guides here

I found that useful as it increased my fps a little and also cleaned out all the vast piles of **** on my hard drive.

Can anyone tell me what overclock is? and how you do it....
