Hmm in rl they get them.. and a survival knife. How come they took pistol out?

In real life, you don't see a helicopter full of pilots dropping out in parachutes WAY behind enemy lines to knife a fire base (assault enemy fortification) or be 1337 "LAPD" with their pistols.

/facepalm. Use search please. In short, pilots were being used unrealisticly. They were used as offensive weapons instead of trying to return to base. Now, if you get shotdown and survive, you HAVE to try and get back to base.

I went pilot last weekend on West Fallujah, the enemy were scared crapless by my crazy antic.

"OMG, he's a pilot, he has no gun! This guy has got to be scary crazy to come here! OMG he's throwing red smoke! Lets get away from this nutter!"

It was taken out because of the paratrooper antics, but tbh, I want their pistols back, well admined servers are the way forward. (we were just testing out stuff on the above story)

Well the whole point of this game is to make it as realistic as possible, so why the cutting corners.. Point of a pistol is so they have at least something, to get a better weapon with.. Unarmed pilot, red smoke, badguys will be on your a$$ in a hot second. If pilots are on the offensive with a pistol vs a rifle than something is wrong there to begin with.. They should have limited the pistols range/power than just get rid of it all together. Or maybe even make it where if you parachute out and your helo/plane isnt damaged then "the pistol snags as you eject and you lose it" or something to that effect? Toodles!
