Would PR run as good from my external HD if i installed it there??? my xp partition got to small

i heared there were programs to make games runnable from extern HD,if this is true then i dont see why PR wouldnt work

hehehe thx guys...darn C# course i am taking enforces us to use visual studio 2008 which is about 6GB ish with help files and API's...i wasn't prepared for that when i re-installed my comp...

Anyways, it should be possible, but expect some really long loading times and possible stuttering.

I know that someone got PR SP running from a usb stick, so this should be possible. Can't find the thread though for some reason.

It's a hybrid between Java and C.

If there wouldn't be for Microsoft pushing it wherever they can it would of died out long ago

I dont see how u cant. I used to play BF2 and other games off an External Hard drive.

as any instalation uses the registery, if your drive changes its letter due to the use of other hardware, you will have to re-install it, and you cant install on 1 computer and run the game later on anothere one, you will have to re-install

awesome that means im good ...and D/L is fast too (torrent) ill be seeding all night and when im not playing

That's not entirely true.


You could simply import the BF2 registry entries onto any PC you'd like to play on and change the InstallDir value to suit your path.

That settles it!!!...I will install vBF2 +1.41 patch and PR 0.85 on the Ray Longo Partition of my external HD which is approximately 32GB so there will even be some over for PR to grow

We'll as long as you have USB2 you should be fine i think. I've seen WOW and other games being played on externals.

cool man...so now its down to if PR(BF2) needs to access more than the capacity of as said in the wiki article
