I'm compiling a list for personal and community reasons. This should be on 60% of all the servers but currently there is only one that i know of.

That's it. Anyone know ANY other servers that have this feature? Im almost giving up hope on all other servers since it seems they're filled to the brim with novices, clans-with-locked-squads and people who just wont join squads.

Tactical Gamer had it in 0.80


BTW, IMO forcing ppl into squads doesn't promote teamwork at all. I'd rather have half the team solo then having to kick noobs from the squad all the time (noob as a person who is not willing to learn how the game works; not to be confused with the term newbie).

Having these on only forces people to get kicked from the server every so often.

Doesn't really help gameplay all that much.

Not the only two options, and in practice it seems to promote teamwork pretty well.

It may not promote great, VOIP teamwork with everyone calling out contacts and fighting as one, but at least it forces people to group up and hopefully tolerate one another. When they finally get tired of getting gunned down lonewolfing, the smart ones will work together out of necessity, and the smacktards will leave.

Meh, it's not what's going to promote team-work, and I think everyone's already got a clear perception that in order to enjoy the game, you NEED to be in a squad. It becomes annoying when there are locked squads, to, so that creates new problems. The only real advantage to it I would think is if someone's AFK, instead of having idling kicks which can kick commanders and TOW gunners, you just need to kick someone from the squad and they'll be kicked from the server, freeing up space. Other than that, it dpesn't actually increase teamwork imo.

Cant really see the difference between servers where joining a squad is forced. If you want to do lonewolfing, just create a new squad and repeat if people start to join. Or state that you wont do any squadleading or rallies, its like that these days. Its not a first time that I cant create squad because of 9 already existing ones with majority of them having 1-3 guys

Well to be honest it promotes people making their own little squad and locking it because they don´t want to lead or get told what to do.

Just because you have to join a squad doesn´t mean they will follow them around at all.

The "Must join squad or be kicked" feature will not succeed alone. Look how it is on the Training Servers.

Clearly you can see 6 players jammed in a squad. One with a sniper kit, another in a one man tank, another in a helicopter, another in a jet, and another one that is drooling at the sky AFK.

Servers like Tactical Gamers, IGI, Texas Teamplayers, and Tactics and Teamwork have active administration to the best of my knowledge. It's all about the server and how the rules are enforced and who's there to enforce them.

The feature is simply an accent and only one piece of the whole picture.

Which should cause any worthwhile squad leader to kick them from the squad for not following orders.
Let's face it, the game is a lot more fun when you play it with a squad - even without all the coding put in place to encourage squadplay.

Well I don´t disagree with that at all, you can´t play if you are not in a squad, but everyone is in a squad anyway, whether there is a script or not. Only problem with the script is it forces people to maybe make a squad when they don´t want to because the others are full, so they don´t lead properly or at all.

But I am not complaining, don´t take it the wrong way, in the end its down to server preference.
