About the M998 HMMWV Support...

For those of you not familiar with the name here's a picture

Anyways on to the question...

Seeing as how this is a more troop transport oriented vehicle now, I decided to try it out on a training server.

So while zipping around getting a feel for how it handled, I accidentally hit X and heard some radio sounds. I stopped the joy ride for a moment and pressed X again and the radio sounds continued. After looking to the right I noticed the radio between the Driver and Passenger seat and figured this is where it was coming from....but I was still puzzled.

So in short my question is, does this have a purpose? Or is it like the jihad music on bomb cars (added just for fun)?

Thanks in advance.

It's there on all HMMVV since .8 I think. It's just an "easter egg" to make long rides a little less boring. Don't know if all the HHMVV still have it in this version however.

THe Avenger confirmed doesn't have it, but all others yes.

They do. Though the handling on this humvee is worse than the up-armored ones, not to mention it is also slower than the regular humvees.

I've seen the youtube video they got the radio chatter from. Can't remember exactly what one it was, i think it was some controlled VBIED detonation video.

Yeah that's the one. Anyone know what that first sentence is? (First sentence heard in game)

You can hear up to 0:45 in game if you keep your finger on x. It's cool.

It'd be nice if the handling and speed were matched to the armed Hummer's, and the HP reduced to compensate for the lack of extra armour.

Something like:

"One, I don't see any fucking smoke. Where's the god damn houses at?"

yeah, I really didn't understand why it has differnet handling at all, even the sound is different.

I mean...they are the same vehicle pretty much.

Well clearly the 50cal model comes with a free service upgrade to steering with every purchase!

:!: :!: :!:

But wait!

Act now and well give you different motor sounds with no extra cost!!! (minus shipping and handling) ;)

Yeah, if you notice on the Troop Transport humvee (M99 8) the doors are cloth, not armor. It'll probably get normalized with the next upgrade, I'm just glad they got extra seats now.
