Briefing instead of loading music?

I can't make a poll, but would you guys rather have briefing instead of loading music, or both briefing and the music, or just the music? It'd be quite easy to do, anyone with basic audio editing skills can overlay two tracks together. You just need a lot of different voices. I'd love to hear "Beginning at 1200 hours, we will initiate Opperation Barracuda. Alpha will move in the the swamp at grid reference XX, and Bravo squad will attack the beach fortifications. The 101st Airborne division will drop in behind enemy lines and set up an operations base. After The two are captured, Alpha and Bravo will stay to defend, and 101st Airborne will move in to attack the airfield. When the Airfield is secured, Alpha and Bravo will mount an assault on the PLA opperations base. We will have logistical support via UH-1s', along with a AH-1Z tactical assault helicopter. Special Forces teams will neutralize enemy foward outposts, and laser-targeted airstrikes will be availible. The Joint Direct Attack Munition is being prepared for launch, and will be availible at 1300 hours. I hope we all make it through this. Hoo-rah on three. 1-2-3 HOO-RAH! Let's go Marines, Semper Fidelis!

Explaining of the strategies would be impossible with AAS3. Everything else is easily explained by the map given, and it takes only a few seconds to look at the map than to listen to Fuzzhead/Rhino/some other Dev speak for a minute.

I'm talking about having a briefing for the sake of realism. For immersiveness.

Would be realism, but the Muttrah city "battle formation" song gets me pumped for battle.

that would be realism, but it would be to much like America's Army imo

would be nice to have like a motivational speech from a general or something right before a battle, kinda like on Jarhead, or some stuff in Generation Kill

but that would get old after a while

I'd like to have map briefing as text. It's just nicer to read it and then loading is ready. Waiting is boring.

We have so nice soundtrack that I don't want it getting replaced by speech. :)

Agree. Would be kinda cool but in the end I think most would love having the music instead.

Not to mention, as said earlier, there are two teams and I since you dont know hat team youll be on til you get in it wouldnt do much good. Athoguh hen you are loading in, it already gives you a team, so maybe itd be possible, but yeah... imo, Id rather the music as you have the briefing time after map load to do all of that.

And youd have to have the briefing be really generic because too specific and it wouldnt match what actually is about to happen..

Meh, cool idea though. :)

You have 3 minutes to do so...

That will be really confusing, and especially if some people are on ts or vent and trying to have a conversation over all this :)

When we got into the briefing room, there was a sign on the commander's spot saying "I QUIT". So there was no briefing.

Nah when the brief is new its aright but hearing it over and over you will dream it and dream some weird stuff around it and you will up in the middle of the night being all wtf was that o.O ?

Problem with this is the speed at which people load maps. Those of us who load slowly will listed to this briefing repeat if it's too short, and those of us who load quickly will never hear all of it if it's too long. And don't you even start to suggest forcing a certain amount of time on the loading screen so people can listen to it. The briefing would get extremely repetitive after a while too.

It's a great idea, I'll give you that, but I have serious doubts regarding how it could be implemented. Any sort of briefing on enemy/friendly force strength or tactics is out of the question, of course, simply because you could play on either side. The only possible briefing would be a vague description of the map and similar things, which would almost detract from the atmosphere, especially given that they would (I imagine) all be in English, especially on maps where there isn't even one English-speaking army.
