A bit of deviation until your gun has been steady for one second...

I think it's simply too easy to aim your rifle and kill someone in a fraction of a second. It's very frustrating when you're engaged in a firefight with someone who keeps popping around a corner and delivering an extremely accurate shot in a duration of less than one second...

What I'm thinking is that when you bring up your sights and steady them, it will take about one sec before you can fire a shot that is exactly where you are aiming. Of course, this system wouldn't much affect firefights that are at shorter distances (50m and less), but it would indeed a deciding factor in firefights that are being fought at 70m +

i posted something liek this on another thread. im glad you gave it its own thread. i completely agree. i also think your stamina combined with how wounded you are should affect your weapon sway slightly (if it is ever added)

Yeah, the stamina should definitely affect deviation as well.

Unless sway can somehow be implemented. But let's keep this thread about the deviation idea.

I think it would really improve the firefights and make them longer

I agree even the best shot cannot bring the sights up, line up the shot and fire accuratley all in under a second.

For a bit of detail. I think stamina and health should play crucial roles into sway/deviation. A fully healthy, well rested player should be way more effective over an injured, tired soldier. A bit off-topic, is it possible to walk without having to look down your sights?

This sounds cool! I hope something like this can be implemented!!!
But I hope you have the way to implement it so that the gun really sways and not by making only the deviation ridiculous...

The "cone of fire" modifiers need to be cranked up for almost all weapons, especially when moving, standing and firing automatic. Even when prone or crouching and stationary, you should put bullets into a quarter-on-your-screen sized area and ANY movement or standing should throw your rounds way off unless point-blank. I tested the M4 specifically and found it deadly accurate across the street without sights and even moving, able to hit man-sized targets from the hip. IMO that should not continue.

I'm thinking that at a range of 50 meters, and having been looking through your ironsights for a fraction of a second, your shot would end up 2-3 meters from where you were aiming. It's not ridiculous

They need to fix the insta prone first, and then this would make fire fights even better.

i think the prone should be similar to rainbow 6. it took agis to stand or lie down, and you couldnt turn around 360' while prone.

This should absolutly be featured in this mod. In fact, there is a lot of elements in the Rainbow series (the older games of course) that should be considered for Project Reality.

I also agree with topic starter (and pretty much everybody else who replied in this thread..)

I agree, instaproning is the biggest problem at the moment. Fix that and things should approve 1000% right off. Do like the deviation idea too, though, reminds me of Operation Flashpoint style.

I think to fix the "insta prone" problem, you could have two keys: one to dive and one to actually go prone. The dive would get you onto the ground extremely fast (like the current proning system), but you'd be basically hitting the ground with your body and equipment so you couldn't just aim right after diving. It would take about two seconds to steady your weapon and bring the sights up.

The prone key would basically be like the proning system in Op Flash.
