I was wondering if the Bf2 engine could possibly have a search of some kind that can locate people that you may like to play with ingame? Sort of what BF2142 has in that you can see when your friends are on. Is there any chance of that happening ever or is something that just can't happen on a BF2 engine or whatever.

There is no way to have this happen, but you can use xfire, alternatively searching for the player name on game-monitor.com

Xfire suites this very well. Most online gamers have Xfire.

Some websites can also search for players, where there are etc.

I use http://www.battletracker.com.

Qtracker has this feature...

as well as autoconnect on number of players and based on map. Only server browser for BF2 being worked on really.

My vote is xfire, <3 free calls to people online lol
